SFL BassHunter Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I will be fishing Lake Toho on Sunday, anyone have any tips, pointers, advice for that lake? Also any good boat rentals at a reasonable price anyone might know about? Probably will be getting there around 10am and doing a half day rental or something to that effect. I wish I had all weekend but I don't. Quote
Pz3 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Unfortunitly I have to work this sunday but man it would be fun to rent a party (pontoon) boat and run around with some Bass Resource guys on Toho. If I this weather pattern continues. I would try fishing the patches of grass / lillies on the north side of the lake. There should be some good lunkers in there. Try punching through the heavy stuff or running soft creature baits on and around them. Be ready to find monsters. Could also try near the middle of the lake where the islands are. Definitly find the grass beds and shell beds. They always seem to have big bass in them as well. It is a heavily fished lake though, so the pressure on this fish can be pretty high. Might pay off to venture into areas where there is less traffic. Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 My friend called up a marina there and they told him they dont rent boats anymore for the lake, and no one else does either. I find that odd. I'm going to have to research a bit. But yeah I something like you mentioned would be fun! Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 Hmmm well after several hours of research I can't find any place that rents boats on Toho...so plan B. Lake Okee! LOL. They rent boats there! Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted March 4, 2014 Global Moderator Posted March 4, 2014 As Pz3 said try the islands in the middle of the lake, but watch the wind direction. If it's out of the south or west start in the area between them. Good Luck Mike Quote

gar-tracker Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Have fun out there. So much lake I wouldn't know where to start. Start where you start dont look at the whole lake and let it intimidate you, just start fishing they are everywhere. Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted March 7, 2014 Author Posted March 7, 2014 Well my plans to a rent a boat went down the drain. So I will be bank fishing with my friend. Which lake is better for bank fishing? Okeechobee, Kissemmee or Toho? Any suggestions as to good bank fishing areas on either lake. I know Pz3 mentioned the north side of the lake of Toho. Any other suggestions? Quote
