I'm from Minnesota and will be in Houston for a few months working and was wondering if there are any good lakes in the Houston area?

Any info would be great. Thank you!

Lake Houston, Lake Conroe, and a little further afield is Lake Sam Reyburn.

All of the above are great lakes but definitely take a little drive and fish Fayette County Lake in La Grange Tx.  It is a wonderful fishery that won’t take a serious bass fisherman long to get on the fish.. And believe me it has an abundance of them!

There is a lot of beds bass are laying on down in lake conroe and if you are trying to seriously fish them you need to look in the weeds for all the beds on Conroe. Also right now it is best to throw lizards and salamanders on Lake Conroe. Also if you are throwing jigs with trailers right now they are hitting on those. But you have to have a precise presentation on all the beds
