mr.mallard Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 was watching a video of jim duckworth and he says to keep his plastics better he texas rigs it like normal but then sticks a toothpick thru the plastic and the hook eye and cuts it off so its flat with the plastic. tried it yesterday and it seemed to work. caught multiple fish on a ROBOWORMa plastic that normally doesnt last. does anyone else do this? Avalonjohn44 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Odd, I saw it in a show the other day too. Shaw Grigsby was doing it. Quote
Blue Streak Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 It is an old, old trick and it does work very well. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted January 24, 2011 Super User Posted January 24, 2011 It is an old, old trick and it does work very well. Yup, works fantastic. The only problem I've ever run into is having a toothpick small enough to fit through some of my hook eyes. It seems like I always have these super jumbo sized ones around here. Quote

Super User .ghoti. Posted January 24, 2011 Super User Posted January 24, 2011 I used to do the same thing with some old, cheap 40 pound test mono. Don't know exactly why I quit doing this. Quote
Chaz Hickcox Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I just saw Terry Scroggins show this on Classic Patterns. Wierd. Quote
