My wife doesn't come along, but the one time she did we had a blast.  she caught 1 more fish than i did that day and trust me, i've never heard the end of it.....  as i come home recently from some skunked winter trips, she's challenged me with the whole "do i need to come back out and show you how to do it"......  honestly though this is like our time apart, she like to catch up with friends, shop, work, have her own time and i get to fish. Now that's a win-win....

I have 15 years on my wife so she'll never be The Old Lady . . . .

But she catches fish . . . .

I'm the opposite.  My wife has 16 years on me.  There's no one I'd rather fish with though.  She goes with me 95% of the time and usually does pretty well considering that me trying to teach her is kinda like the blind leading the blind.  She likes fishing Yum Dingers and lipless cranks.  Here's her best fish from last season.

My wife rarely goes with.  I fish often, very often, and she has a standing invitation but she doesn't go usually.  On the rare occasion she does go, we joy ride and have a nice lunch somewhere on the water.  She has caught a 36" Pike when she thought she was stuck on weeds.  I had to inform her that weeds don't pull back :)  She has no problem with me fishing, at all.  We spend every minute of our lives together otherwise and I wouldn't have it any other way.  It's her support that allows me to concentrate on fishing and not about an angry spouse.  Thanks, hon!

My wife also goes with me quite often. She uses what she calls the " NO TECHNIQUE, TECHNIQUE". She cast's a worm or craw and then just plays at it. She twitches it once in a while and often doesn't know she has a fish on until I tell her. What is somewhat frustrating though is that, sometimes she out fishes me. It's all good though. She has fun and we have a great day together.

I have the best of both worlds.  While my wife doesn't really enjoy fishing, she does enjoy being outdoors.  Most weekends, she'll let me get up and go early and fish for 4-5 hours and then meet me at the lake--usually with lunch.  She'll then come along for the ride while I fish for a few more hours while she reads, suns herself and naps.

When she does fish, though, she's a killer.  She prefers live bait, but I'll usually set her up with a spinning rod with a wacky rig.  She is amazing.  Throws it out, reads her book/listens to music and just flat out catches fish.  Not quite a dead stick technique, but close.  Reminds me of how you need to slow down your presentation some times.

My wife fishes with me sometimes. she prefers crappie and catfish to bass and stripers. but my 2 1/2 yr old loves fishing as much as i do. She enjoys tanning while we fish up front.

For the record my wife is 3 yrs older than me and often refers to herself as my old lady.

My wife calls herself my good luck charm. I do catch fish when she's in the boat. We have a place on a private lake in Alabama and every once in a while she will go with me.

And i thought i was robbing the cradle at 8 years :)

nice fish....

mine is six years older and oh yea my high school math teacher ,. Was love at first site. She likes to fish but prefer to read and tan. Which I don't mind she works out BC she is now a cop and exercises. 6'0 rocking body so I don't mind when she adds a tan. We are two of a kind. I call her women, old lady etc and she's fine with it because I also call her the love of my life.

i wish i can take my wife fish every time i go   we just brought a new boat last fall. but we are in the resturant business, one of us have to be there all the time. so i have to go with my friend and she stay and watch the store.  So we only been on the water  ONE time together. so i am hoping this year that i can take her fishing more.  And its been a whole year since we have been out together just to get away from the resturant.

My wife fishes with me all the time even in tourneys. Unfortunately she got her PB ( a 6.2 largemouth) fishing with another guy at a tourney in which we fished. It's hard to keep her from fishing with me. She'll get up at 2:00 A. M. with no complaints and is ready to go. If I fish with someone else, she gives me this sad face when she sees me off in the morning. I like to fish with other guys so I can learn from them. I wouldn't trade her for any other fishing partner. No drama, no BS she just fishes and tries her best. That's all I can ask for.

If  I remember correctly..................I only fished twice last year without my wife.

Once was with a buddy of mine on my home lake.....................and the other time was one day on Pickwick at last years Bass Resource Road Trip.

Well since I fish with you wife 50% of the time you don't I thought I would post this.

She also said something about me being a better guide and that I don't irritate her nearly as much as you... :laugh5:

My wife is the one that found the boat we bought. She's also the one that finds excellent deals on my favorite baits. Sometimes she even gets the colors right. She was right beside me today fishing in 34 degree temps with 30 mph winds.

My wife ( i dont have an old lady' if i used that term, wow ) likes to go and hang out.she doesnt fish but she loves just being out and about.my biggest fan and always gives me hell when i get skunked..lol..She manages the money so i can pursue all my guy hobbys..Fishing,shooting,etc,etc...she has been there when i have caught some of my more interesting fish..like a striped bass of about 5lbs in a city lake, and something i never saw on the river once that boiled the water when it got close to the top,the boil was about as big as a bath tub, broke my rod and line in one quick move. She tells that story because no one would believe me....lol

When my Wife isn't tanning on the back deck she has been known to reel in a few bass.  Never complains about me fishing or hunting. In our terms she's a "keeper" and she let's me hold her fish  :laugh5:

First of all...if I called my wife an "old lady", I'd probably catch a right hook to the eye.

FWIW.... I can't stand people who call there wives, girlfriends, etc.... Their "old lady ". It's garbage.

Grow some thicker skin dude. Smh nothings wrong with calling a lady you've been with for awhile you're old lady its proper if you ask me.
