Hi Bass Resource Community,

 

The DEC is hiring a seasonal Creel Agent for NYC.  This is a great opportunity for those who like fishing and talking to anglers with a wildlife and or fisheries background to work for the DEC.  The deadline is March 13th 2014 so apply soon. Here is a description of the position

 

SEASONAL POSITION – CREEL SURVEY AGENT FOR PROSPECT PARK LAKE, $15.10/HR, 40 HRS/WK, Approximate start date in mid- to late-April, ending November 30, 2014

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is seeking a qualified individual to interview anglers at Prospect Park Lake about their fishing experiences and opinions.  No experience is necessary however potential candidates must meet the minimum qualifications listed below.  Familiarity with fish and/or fishing would be helpful in this position.

 

Angler interviews are to be conducted at Prospect Park Lake, four days per week including both Saturday and Sunday; one day per week is to be spent at the DEC Regional Office in Long Island City, Queens.

Minimum qualifications: 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography
