buzzfrog Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 as of now, a jerkbait, lipless, senko and a splash of spinnerbait Quote
bassguytom Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I will be throwing a lucky Craft pointer 78 and a Binsky blade bait. Need a good warm up before that will happen. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Spinnerbait, Rattle Trap, Speed Trap until about 1300 and then the pitchin' stick comes out with a jig. That's when I get out. At least I have a plan. Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted March 5, 2014 Super User Posted March 5, 2014 I'm ready to get working on my goal of mastering the art or the jig. I recently bought a 6' 10'' MH Falcon Bucoo Micro Guide that I'm dying to try. Gonna buy an Abu Garcia Orra Sx to put on it. Aside from that I can't wait for the topwater bite to pick up so I can throw some frogs and my Hula Popper. Quote
jiggz125 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I have 3 set ups all ready to go(even though I have about 2 months to go). Black/Blue Swim Jig with Yamamotto Grub as trailer, SK Red Eye Lip-less Sexy Shad and Weight-less Senko; with 2/0 VMC Weedless Wacky Hook. Very excited to get out here this winter has been BRUTAL to say the least. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted March 5, 2014 Super User Posted March 5, 2014 Never limit yourself to using one lure or one color. We have a tackle box full of lures. Full of different colors so why limit ourselves. I try different lures and colors till something works. If nothing is happening I go back through my assortment of lures in attack mode and make different presentations picture perfect. So perfect I could win a bassmasters Oscar. The exact timing and pauses really matter on somedays. The fish will let you know when you get it right. Quote
IAtegeler Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Shaky head and a suspending jerkbait for me. Quote
macmichael Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 Today we went to a farm pond. I landed 2 nice bass. Hooked up on four total. The first on a 1/2 ounce white spinner bait with double gold baldes. Got hung up and lost that spinner so I switched to a red and white 1/2 ounce spinner bait with 2 silver blades and caught my last one. My bud caught about 6 small ones on a beetle spin. We sure enjoyed those thumps. Quote
