EdRitchie Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I see that BPS has a great sale on fluorocarbon on 3/8/14 . I was wondering if anyone has used and please give everyone some feed back. I also searched and found that I read couple different sites that it is made by seaguar and its comparable to the carbon pro line. Thank you Ed Any info would be greatly appreciated Quote
gripnrip Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Hootie works there. He said on another thread that Seaguar is now making the BPS flouro line. I have used their house brand before and had good results. At their price point, I could add a few more bucks and purchase a brand name quality line so I did. I am curious to see how this line performs. I may have to get some to try out again if it is on sale. Quote
Jay Ell Gee Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 The line fishes really well. KVD came into my Bass Pro one day last year to buy a fishing license and stock up and he sat with me at the counter for a bit and talked fishing. He had boxes upon boxes of our fluoro and spoke very highly of it. (For whatever that is worth to you guys) He also signed a Cataouatche Special 1.5 for me (It's in Louisiana so that was a no brainer) and took pics with some of the employees. Very nice fellow. But for what it's worth, a ton of our employees fish it and love it. I spool it on reels almost daily and it is as smooth as anything else. Seaguar does make it, to my knowledge. Quote
EdRitchie Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 We'll Thank you for all the info and at $9.99 might have to pick some up and try Quote
Wbeadlescomb Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 It may be good but seaguar red box runs around 10.50 here so I stick with that Quote
OnthePotomac Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I have been using the regular BPS fluorocarbon in 14lb for 8 years now for worms and crankbaits and am very pleased with it. Thank you BPS for the sales on this stuff. I like its relatively smaller diameter (.013") than some other Flourocarbons. Quote
Sodus Bay Scooter Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I've been using it for 3 years now, the 17lb and never any break offs and I even tie a palomar knot with it every time. Although the line gets cloudy over time, it doesn't affect the performance but I also have been using the same spool over those years if that tells you anything. Quote
Stingray23 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 It may be good but seaguar red box runs around 10.50 here so I stick with that Funny thing is, its probably the exact same line. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted March 2, 2014 Super User Posted March 2, 2014 Very good, and affordable fluoro. It's certainly not on par with products like Tatsu, but it's a darn good line. At 10 bucks a spool you really can't go wrong. It's about all I use for most of my fishing on the rock pit lakes around me. If the grass starts getting thick, then I'll go to braid. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted March 2, 2014 Super User Posted March 2, 2014 Yes, the BPS fluoro is a good quality line. The white box line is being phased out to be replaced by the new yellow and purple box. The new line is made by Seaguar. I use the Seaguar Abrazx, and the Red Label. But I have also used the BPS line. Never had a problem with it. Hootie Quote
bassin is addicting Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 what is everyone's opinion to use an improved clinch knot with this line? if i wet it real good before cinching it down. i am thinking of picking up some of this line this weekend. i've never used flouro before. Quote

But I don't really need it yet, so might pass until the next sale. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted March 4, 2014 Super User Posted March 4, 2014 Darren, I'm not sure who made the white box line. I only know it wasn't Seaguar. I should be able to find out. Hootie Quote
