Costs more but Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard. Is a great " straight" protein. MPH makes a good meal replacement protein shake. This means that it is loaded with carbs and natural fats to give a higher calorie count.

I Use both. Meal replacements in between meals and right before working out. I use straight protein immediately following a work out and about an hour or so before bedtime, and when I first wake up.

When I'm cutting, meaning I'm attempting cilutnbody fat by manipulating diet and workout, Ill eliminate thenmeal replacements. And usen straight protein only.

That's pretty Funny - I am drinking one RIGHT NOW ~ ! !    The Chocolate Coconut is very good.

I agree with Teal - I've had more than 35 years of drinking supplemental drinks and I think this may be the best one so far.

Just remember that there is no miracle drink.  They are a supplement and that's all they are.  Definitely not a replacement for anything including meals.  Have 1 right after your workout / exercise and perhaps one during the day of your off day and that should be all you'll need.  Balanced well timed meals designed to meet your training goals will take care of the rest.   And just use water (not milk).  Human's are the only knuckle heads on this planet who  force feed themselves baby food after infancy . . . .you can and should get whatever moo-moo juice provides from the rest of your daily intake, But I digress . . . .

Good Luck

Teal and A-Jay are spot on.  I have used Optimum and it is a great product.  I am using Muscletech at the present time.  I get it from Sam's Club.  It is about $20 bucks less than Optimum.  I am on a budget so I get the Muscletech.  If I weren't, I'd be using Optimum.

Yeah they will make you fat as hell if you don't work out while taking them. I should know. Its happened to me before. Right now I'm just chunky from having been injured.

Muscle Tech, Optimum, BSN. They all make quality whey protein. Don't buy the cheap protein. You get what you pay for in this regard. Combine them with some creatine and a few other novelties and you will be good to go. Maybe some of the Romanian strain HGH I've been hearing such good things about....

I used EAS straight whey protein for a while but the cholesterol was higher than it probably should be so i recently switched over to egg protein from optimum nutrition.  A buddy of mine who owns a couple of gyms down in FL recommended it to me so i am giving it a whirl.

All the protein Ive used over the years...

ON Gold Standard - Great Stuff. Tastes good. No extra carbs or calories. Only Whey

Gaspari Myofusion - Great Stuff. Thicker than ON, but a great taste. More carbs, and Cals for bulking.

Trutein - Excellent Stuff. Best taste Ive experienced. Cinnamon Roll tastes like a Cinnamon Roll... or the milk from Cinnamon Toast Crunch. 3 different kinds of Protein. 40% whey, 40% Casein, 20% Egg Albumen. Great Product.

Humapro - Not Whey, synthetic protein. 6gram dose equals same 29g whey. Odd flavors, tastes like regurgitated fruit. But mixes well in post work out sports drinks. No Gastrointestinal issues like you get with whey. Bloating, gas, etc..

Out of all those, Trutein is my fav. The different types of Protein it has encourages better muscle recovery/growth.

I primarily use ON and MTS whey. If you haven't tried MTS, it's worth it to pick up a tub on their website. Stuff is the real deal, and tastes phenomenal.

Designer Whey is a pretty good product.

This^^^       My wife works for a big natural food company and gets a killer discount on the stuff. I would not recommend the french vanilla though.
