Super User F14A-B Posted March 1, 2014 Super User Posted March 1, 2014 I took a 100 smoke on a trade couple years ago... I use all shimano... But I have used the quantum It's really a light all alloy reel.. Aluminum drive gear well constructed... Cast pretty far... It's got ok power... My son loves the reel big time Oh.. And you can read a review on TackleTour about the Smoke... I know it's not much but maybe it will help ya Good luck Quote
Stingray23 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 great reels. either one will be good. The 150 hold more line Quote
Christian M Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I purchased the Smoke 100 when it came out for $200 and it was well worth the money. If you do buy it, get some quantum hot sauce and put a few drops in the reel before using it. I caught my PB with mine, one of the best reels I own. Quote
OkeechobeeAngler Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Just got a Smoke Inshore. Love it and plan on more. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted March 1, 2014 Super User Posted March 1, 2014 I have the 100SPT and the 150HPT and I like the 150 more but the 100 is really good as well, I think they are the best reels Quantum ever made. I prefer the 150 because it has the clicking spool tension knob and the ACS 3 brake system which works fantastic, that is one reel I'd say is worth buying. Quote
Jsinkic Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I just got the 150 just from unboxing this thing is amazing smooth, light weight and strong. Magnetic bail works great to. I would recommend it forsure Quote
Superdumper Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I recently bought the 150 n paired it with a Powell endurance only been used a few times so far. But a Great set up have no complaints. The only heads up I'd give is that the reel is a little picky so make sure u set the tension n brakes properly. And make sure to grease it right out of the box. Other then those side bars great reel well worth the money. Quote
buzzfrog Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I bought the 150 7.3 when it first came out, I have been grinding this thing terrible in the gunk as it is my frogin reel. I heard so much hate on them, but this thing is still chuggin Quote
Wbeadlescomb Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 There's a local store here that has an offer if you buy a quantum Exo you get a free Exo rod I think they ship Quote
