masterbass Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I have to confess to being a full blown tackle junkie. If this winter continues, I'll go broke buying more rods and reels than I have any business buying. My wife would flip out if she found out how much money I spent in the last 2 months. I managed to accumulate a lews speed spool, lews tournament mg, daiwa t3 ballistic, daiwa cielo spinning rod, 2 omens, *** black, dobyns dx 743 and my newest purchase a megabass xx perfect pitch plus a bunch of new baits and terminal. Please ease my guilt and share with me your latest winter time acquisitions. 1 Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted March 1, 2014 Super User Posted March 1, 2014 Not much this Winter, I picked up Zoom Super Flukes, 4 Spinnerbaits, 1 Havoc Grass Pig, 30lb Braid (Sabretooth) and a new net. I'm probably not getting much until the summer. I am looking for a new rod (crankbait) but I am being patient. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted March 1, 2014 Super User Posted March 1, 2014 I haven't stopped buying yet Quote
bootytrain Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I spent a lot too.. Metanium XG, Exsence DC, ABU Morrum ZX, Revo LTZ, Tatula R, and got my Curado I today. Shimano Expride is the only major rod purchase. Oh and a ton of JDM lures. Thank god I'm single with no kids lol. 1 Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted March 1, 2014 Super User Posted March 1, 2014 3 reels,4 rods, and a good many swimbaits/wakebaits. Plus a bunch of soft plastics and terminal tackle. All of which I didn't need but you gotta feed that monkey. Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted March 1, 2014 Super User Posted March 1, 2014 Oh I guess if you want to count the lures I've been getting from LTB. Quote
Basseditor Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I have to stop reading posts about tackle sales. 150.00 in flukes this week, 100.00 in Senkos last week. Huddleston swim baits the week before that. And this is a slow month. Good news, I'm going to put them all to good use in a few hours. It's time for a big one, 80 degrees Friday and again Saturday. Time to get moving and load the boat. Quote

Super User Jar11591 Posted March 1, 2014 Super User Posted March 1, 2014 Taking a trip to BPS in a week so I'll post when I get back. I plan on spending an obscene amount of money there. I've got a list of a few "necessities" that I need to purchase before this year's season starts up. Quote

masterbass Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 I am saving everything for memorial day sales. That is exactly what I'm concerned about. I'm already thinking about how much money I could save with another great sale...lol. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted March 1, 2014 Super User Posted March 1, 2014 DX 704 DX 746 Daiwa T3 Daiwa TD-Ito Shimano Chronarch D7 Daiwa Tdz type R Zillion 50th anniversary Custom Anodized parts from Hawgtech Wow! Nice. Expensive tastes. I am like Tom. I haven't stopped buying yet. Haven't been as bad this year as last winter. Used T3 1016H, T3 MX1016XHL-TW, Curado 201E, Purple Alphas, Fuego spinning rod, Carbonlite ML casting rod, Prodigy MF casting rod, new Ballistic 7'7" Medium Cranking rod, 7' Aetos MHF. Still need 6'9" MXF Smallmouth spinning rod, 6'10' MH-MF Smallmouth casting rod, Tatula reel (and maybe a Tatula rod to go with it), and want to try a KLX and ALX casting rod. Another Aetos or two wouldn't be turned down. EDIT: Also purchased a new Procyon and SS1300 for my brother-in-law's birthday. Don't normally buy gifts for anyone outside my immediate family, but we stay at his home when we visit Florida. Thought this would be nice since his gear is the inexpensive type from Walmart. 1 Quote
SoMinnBass Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Winter is a great time for good deals it seems, and that is what I try to look for. So far for me: Lowrance Elite-4 Combo $120 (for the boat I don't have yet ) Curado 200G7 $70 Bunch of random tackle I also spend some time on eBay looking for a few particular things. You can find the good 'old Rapala Down Deeps for as little as a couple bucks. Most are unused, but might need new hooks. I also enjoy buying custom painted DTs, usually from $4-$12 each, on average not too bad for more of a novelty. But boy... how many times I fill up that cart online just to tempt myself Quote
Alpha Male Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Lets see. 4 baitcasters, 5 spinning reels, 3 spinning rods, 3 baitcasting rods, cabelas tackle bag and the plano trays, 7 tackle orders from tackle warehouse and some from ebay and others. Quote
5fishlimit Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Daiwa Zillion 100HSL Daiwa PXL-R Daiwa alphas ito 103L Now I need to find the rods for these beauties. Quote
Jason Short Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I got a few older Shimano Curado's, a Mojo bass rod, a Shimano Caenan, and a few lures. I got a few other things but nothing that I didn't fund by selling something else. Quote
SK1 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I am a spinning guy. Rods Dobyns 703 BPS Sig II 7.2 MH Powell Diesel M Reels Abu Revo SX Lews Gold Spin Hooks, soft plastics, etc. Ready for spring. Steve Quote
SudburyBasser Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I swore to myself I wasn't going to buy a darned thing this winter but that kind of broke down about two hours ago when I bought a new Quantum Smoke 6-6 rod and an Abu Garcia Revo S I'm putting together for a jerkbait set-up. I have to admit I love the pairing and so bloody light for a sub $300 set-up. In my defence, the rod was on sale. Quote
