Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 2, 2014 Global Moderator Posted March 2, 2014 I've owned one Vision 110. I caught 2 fish with it and both eyes fell off. It didn't work any better for me than the STX Luck E Strikes and I'm constantly afraid to lose it or break it casting at the rocks so I sold it. I know plenty of people swear by them, but they aren't for me. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted March 5, 2014 Super User Posted March 5, 2014 I've got a couple unique and cool Megabass jerkbaits coming with the hinged bills, I'll send you some pics when I get them 1 Quote

Super User Hooligan Posted March 6, 2014 Super User Posted March 6, 2014 You like the 110, you'll like the FX9. Both the JDM and USDM are true suspending baits. It's dependant upon water temperature, really. The JDM suspends at a wider range of temps, admittedly. However, that's never been the meat of the argument between the baits. The entire argument has always been that the JDM baits sit at a different angle in the water, and it simply isn't true. I've fished the 110 JDM since well before the US intro of the bait. A good friend was stationed in Japan, and hit a tackle shop there and bought me a whole bunch of stuff before he came home. I purchased a bunch when I was there in 2000, as well. I've noticed no difference at all in the catch rates. Color wise, Pro BLue, Table Rock, Twilight, Oikawa, Hasu, and Ito Wakasagi are favorites. When I can find them, Elegy Bone and Gill are probably the two that I fish the most. The problem with the last two, is they are incredibly hard to get at times. There are also a few JDM colors that I fish a lot. When it comes to the PopMax, if you ever find the Balsa, get it. It will blow your mind. 2 Quote

Pretty selfish of you, depriving the northern pike of a high-class meal like that... ? I sometimes throw a buzz frog a few times before I tie on a pricey Megabass bait in an attempt to de-pike the area... Quote

CrankFate Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 In my limited jerkbsit use, I like LC better. They suspend better. They have better hooks and rings. They can be fished at different depths. And the fish bite them more. Quote
Brett's_daddy Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 I've been tempted but where I live there's far too many toothy critters to throw in a gold nugget like a Vision 110! I stick to Spro McStick 110's or Jackall Rerange (when I can get them on sale for like $13 each), I would hate to lose either of them too but it would hurt far less than a $25 Vision 110. I have also heard that Vision's aren't durable and have a bill breaking issue and then there are those who say you'll need to change out their hooks to Owner or Mustad or Gamakatsu...are you freaking kidding me...a $25 bait comes with garbage hooks, no thank you! I also don't see the logic behind buying a bait so expensive you're afraid to throw it...just save your money if that's the case unless you're a collector and the bait is being bought for collection/display purposes only. No guts, no glory! In pike-rich waters, it's a little like playing Russian Roulette with your wallet. ? I think the hooks are fine. The OneTen is intended to be fished on light tackle and the fine wire hooks work well, but I sure wouldn't winch fish in on braid and a locked-down drag with them. Megabass guy Randy Blauket suggests fishing them on spinning gear with 6lb - 8lb. line. You probably won't be breaking or bending out hooks doing that... I usually fish them on a M/XF rod and 8lb. line. No issues so far. I have yet to break a bill on any of the Vision OneTens, +1s, or Jr. +1s I have. I'm not going to mention not losing any to pike thus far because I don't want to jinx myself. ? Quote
Benchmark Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 I switched to spinning gear last season and on 8lb invizx it makes a world of difference throwing the 110’s. Occasionally I’ll switch one hook out to get it to dive deeper but the stock hooks are quite good. Quote
thunderblack Posted July 8, 2021 Posted July 8, 2021 Fish visions, pointers, x-rap, duo, twitch stick, and more. Nothing casts like a 110 or a 110 tour premium. The baits are a little brittle and yes the hooks take some getting use to but they cast like rockets and catch fish for sure. I use them in SW too. Quote

You can cast that thing a country mile. It fishes pretty well as an all around scenario jerkbait like the 110 too. Granted, under specific conditions i've had other jerkbaits perform better, but there is a time and a place for every jerkbait somewhere. Quote
thunderblack Posted July 8, 2021 Posted July 8, 2021 For sure Scott! I'll check em out and order a few. Favorite style of fishing hands down. 1 Quote
