Wbeadlescomb Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I'm retiring my quantum energy pt and I've got several curados and a lews speed spool. I can't make up my mind if I want a lews or another curado. I know some people don't like the curado g but I have had 0 problems out of them. Probably going with a curado because a couple of local stores have them for 99.99 on clearance but does anyone know how well the lews stand up over time? I know Shimano's are built to last but it's a toss up on which one I enjoy fishing with more. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted February 27, 2014 Super User Posted February 27, 2014 I have both and have been fishing with the Lews for a couple of seasons now, with narry a problem. Don't think you can go wrong with either choice. Hootie Quote
Wbeadlescomb Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 I've been debating on having all of my reels one way or the other and I've got more curados than lews. I bit the bullet and and got 6 Powell rods to replace my old rods I was using a mix of shimano compre's, quantum kvd, st croix mojo and a bass pro flipping stick and I really enjoy all my rods to feel more or less the same when I pick them up. It gives the illusion of knowing what I'm doing too haha Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 27, 2014 Super User Posted February 27, 2014 Good choice on Powell. Can't go wrong with a Lews TP for around 150 but 100 for a Curado is a steal. Its all in what u want. If you want a lighter reel the Tp is a steal Quote
Brian Needham Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Like the Lews becasue it is lighter....... that shimano is tough to beat at that price. Lews are holding up just fine, call and talk to some guys that service/clean them and they will tell you the same. 1 Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Among the major manufacturers at the $150> Retail price point the competition is fierce and results in pretty much all good products. Let features, feel, and the deal decide for you. Quote
