gripnrip Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 No ~ I have 36 of these . . . . . A-Jay SK RES.jpg You bought the kit to huh? Quote
Zach Dunham Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I pretty much fish exclusively Red-Eye Shads. I have multiple of them in almost every color. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 27, 2014 Super User Posted February 27, 2014 Well, I'm sure I have not fished EVERY brand, but over the years quite a few. For a long time I was stuck on the Xcalibur Xr50 Blue & Silver. Then on a BR RoadTrip I was fishing with Dinky the year the Red Eye Shad first hit the market. I don't fish anything else anymore. The forward fall of this lure makes it unique and deadly! Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted February 27, 2014 Super User Posted February 27, 2014 I have a few "other" LCB's but generally stick to the 1/2oz Red Eye Shad. I don't have 36. Somewhere in the 20's and counting. So many cool colors Quote
daiwaguy Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 TD Vibration, a few Excalibur and good ole Bill Lewis and some Spots Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted February 27, 2014 Super User Posted February 27, 2014 I've got a bunch of lipless crankbaits. I stick to Cotton Cordell and Xcalibur. I've got some random other ones, but the majority of them are from those two brands. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted February 27, 2014 Super User Posted February 27, 2014 Well, I'm sure I have not fished EVERY brand, but over the years quite a few. The forward fall of this lure makes it unique and deadly! If you like a nose-down fall, you might take a peek at the Jackall TN/70. It has tungsten weighted lips that get it to depth quickly and keep it upright even on the bottom (like a Spro). It also has a fast, tight, shad-like wiggle and loud rattles. The low note is price Roger Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted February 27, 2014 Super User Posted February 27, 2014 I have a bunch of them from different manufacturers. The Rattle Traps have been banned from my boat. I think that there are better baits and that brand just takes up space. I had an experience with rattle traps several years ago, where they actually killed the bite, and a half an hour later after I had switched to a different bait, the bite started up again. I generally carry 50 rattle type baits - more or less, Red Eye Shads, Spots, Diamond Shads and assorted others. 90% of the time, I am throwing a discontinued Berkley Frenzy rattle bait in a shiny thread fin shad color. Even when the paint is mostly worn off, they still work. I have 4 left. That should last a few more years unless I get stupid. This is an interesting bait category . There are many options out there. Super User WRB Posted February 27, 2014 Super User Posted February 27, 2014 Smithwick WaterGator was a hot lure in the 70's in bone white color, still works today. Lewis Rat L Trap and Cordell Spots both work good, the Trap comes in larger sizes. Dave Nickels made a striper size 1 oz 4" and 1 1/2 oz 5" Rattle Shad lipless in holographic shad that is very good on big bass. Lucky craft lipless came out in shad colors like ghost minnow and they are very good in clear water. Rapala lipless are very noisy and good during low light. The xclalbur one knocker works good at slower retrieve speeds. Take your pick, each brand has a different sound , wiggle and a few big models. Tom Quote
Primus Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I fish a few different brands in various sizes, in addition to the good baits already mentioned I also like the Sebile Flatt Shad & Yozuri Rattlin' Vibe. Quote
Hanover_Yakker Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I am guilty of koarding a few lipless cranks in my stash.... Currently, I have a few SK Red Eye Shads, a few SPRO Aruku and Jrs, a bunch of the new Rapalas, XCalibur, XPS and a Koppers Live Target. I prefer the SPRO Aruku Jr and then the SKs, but I need to use them more. Quote
