Bps Carbonlite Vs Abu Garcia Veritas

So a buddy of mine swears on the Veritas casting rods. I've heard many positive reviews about the Carbonlite but I've never seen one. What are the similarities with these two rods? Wich is better for flipping/pitching? Crankin? Worms? Price is right for both, but ultimately wich is the better deal. Abu Garcia retails for 99. Bps goes from 100 to 119. Warranty?

I believe the veritas now retail for 79.99. And with the upcoming spring classic at BPS you can get a carbon lite for less than what they normally retail for. I can't speak on the carbon lites as I've never fished one but the veritas I owned was the 7'6" MH/F and it was a dang broomstick. Seems to be the general consensus that they are under rated power wise.

Actually you can get the Veritas for 79.99 from BPS during the Fishing Classic, but it sounds like that might be the permanent price.  For me up here (Ontario Canada) I can get a Veritas for 79.99 at a lot of places.  So it sounds like a new rod maybe coming from Abu.  Anyway, I can't comment regarding the Carbonlite  (don't own one)...but during the rod trade in (bring an old rod) you can get them for 64.99.  IMO that is a great price and maybe better bang for your buck than a Carbonlite.  Not saying the Carbonlite sucks, but I own a Veritas 7'3" MH/F.  Overall a very versatile rod.  Maybe one of the guys here who has owned both can comment.  The biggest knock on the Veritas is you have to really be thorough about the quality of the rod.  BPS has outstanding warranty and Abu is pretty good too, so I'd say it's pretty fair there.

You can't get the veritas for 79.99 at gander in their sale flyer. I have a Carbonlite as do a couple forum buddies. Love it, it is a 6-6 MH/F that I can do anything with Texas rigs, jigs, lipless cranks, spinnerbaits. It is very light weight, very sensative and I like the finish on it, it is dark grey and you can kinda see the weave of the carbon in the light. Durable blank great grip and reel seat, the weakest thing if I had to list and is the guides are a little big and look flimsy, handle braid though and never bent any in two plus years. It is 99 once in a while you can catch them at 79.

I have 4 carbonlites. Great rod. The 7' MH/F is a good rod for jigs and t-rigs and pretty good for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits as well. The 6'6" M/F is my jerkbait rod and the 7' M/F is my "everything" rod. I had a 7'3" MH/F veritas for about two weeks a couple years ago before it snapped on me at table rock. While I had it I liked it well enough. To me it was a little uncomfortable to use though because of the reel nut digging into my fingers.
