Super User RoLo Posted April 5, 2014 Super User Posted April 5, 2014 That is one sharp looking machine! You're definitely going to have a blast, the best of luck. Roger Quote
hoosierbass07 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Congratulations! After I bought my green Ride 115 I noticed they also had them in that dusk color and I thought that dusk color looked very cool. If I get another Ride it will definitely be in that dusk color. Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted April 13, 2014 Super User Posted April 13, 2014 Still waiting for a pic of your new 'Yak! My daughter wants to go with me now so I picked up a Feel Free Lure 11.5 in her favorite color: blue/camo. It felt great paddling around the lake @ Billington Sea Kayak where we bought it. Easy as pie to throw up on my ladder racks, especially compared to my 128T. Get your photo up so we can see your ride, and how big your 1st fish with it is! 1 Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted April 14, 2014 Author Super User Posted April 14, 2014 Well? Have you picked up your new 'yak yet? I bought an Ascend 128T today; picking it up tomorrow. Couldn't argue with the price. Can't wait to get it in the water. It is in the shop waiting for me to pick it up. I plan to take a trip out there in the next two weekends to go pick it up. The ice just came off the waters so I will definitely be getting out in it as soon as I can. Quote
Dramer77 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Did you look into the nucanoe frontier? That's what I've been leaning twords Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted April 15, 2014 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted April 15, 2014 Nice ride Felix. That color is sick. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted April 21, 2014 Author Super User Posted April 21, 2014 Did you look into the nucanoe frontier? That's what I've been leaning twords I did ... I really liked the idea of the single/double seat option but didn't like the tracking options which were not there. The 115x was the full fishing package for me in one purchase. The overriding factor was the center console though. Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted April 23, 2014 Super User Posted April 23, 2014 Have you picked up your Ride yet? If yes, have you gone out on it yet? I got out on my Lure 11.5 for a little bit last weekend and liked it a lot. It's forcing me to learn to cast a bait caster in new and interesting ways.... good thing I'm good at untangling backlashes. Hope you have fun on your 'yak. Quote

Jim Mac Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I got out on my Lure 11.5 for a little bit last weekend and liked it a lot. I'm interested in the Lure 10', but 69 lbs. seems heavy for a 10 footer, doesn't it? Do you think that's the weight with the seat? Speaking of the seat, is it comfortable? Quote

Do you think that's the weight with the seat? Speaking of the seat, is it comfortable? If you're any taller than 5', the 10' might be too short for you. I bought mine at Billington Sea Kayak and was able to test paddle the different models. My Daughter is 5'5" and found the 11.5 much more comfortable. I'm 6'1" and thought the 10' Lure was like paddling a skateboard. I can lift the 11.5 onto my pickup truck ladder rack myself easily. As far as the seat goes, it's A+ to the point I'm going to try to adapt it to my Ascend 128T, whose seat is pretty comfortable. Enough of hijacking Felix's thread, however, I really like the Lure 11.5 and think it's an excellent Kayak. Good luck with whatever Kayak you end up with. Quote
Jim Mac Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Thanks DogBone. I'm 5' 10" and weigh 215. Are you saying there's not enough leg room in the 10 footer? What exactly do you mean? Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted April 25, 2014 Super User Posted April 25, 2014 Thanks DogBone. I'm 5' 10" and weigh 215. Are you saying there's not enough leg room in the 10 footer? What exactly do you mean? The Lure 10 just felt too small, overall. I didn't dare try to stand up while trying it out, though my daughter and I were able to on the 11.5. If you can try them out before you buy, you might feel what I mean,. But like shoes & pickup trucks, it's all personal preference. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted April 28, 2014 Author Super User Posted April 28, 2014 What do you mean by "tracking options"? I'm also looking into the Frontier. I was really referring to all the rigging which comes with the Ride. Recessed track on sides and back. Ball mount in the middle Obviously the fishfinder console in the middle. It preps me for everything. I picked it up yesterday and fished with it for a few hours. Pics coming tonight. Let's just say the maiden voyage was a success. Love my new ride! Quote
