Does anyone know of any reviews of this reel?

Anybody in here have one?

Just interested. . .

Just recently purchased 2 of them, but haven't had a chance to fish them yet. Can't wait to try them out.

Not sure which you are discussing. The Curado is bad ass. I bought one at the classic and fished it this weekend. The Chronarch is essentially the same just lighter and smoother. Shimano has heard the message and I GUARANTEE these reels come in second to none. This is coming from someone who leaned on his Lew's and Daiwa reels for at least two years through the G series.

I have the new Chronarch. C14+.  It is a very smooth reel and I have it on a BPS 6'6" MH Carbonlite with 14lb flouro.  It comes with two of the four brakes on, so I set the outside dial on 3 (there are 6 settings) and a flick of the wrist send a Senko a very long ways with no effort at all.  Love it.  The first thing I did was take it down, clean the excessive oil from the bearings and grease from the gears and relube.  This reel has two bearings under the cast control cap for spool stability under a heavy load, which Shimano refers as the "X Ship" feature.  All bearings are anti rust and the spool bearings are very fast.

Before I begin I want to let people know that I've only been using Bait casters for only 4-5 months, so my opinions probably don't mean much.  I have a Chronarch CI4+ (30 lbs braid with 10 lbs leader) on a DX744c and on a DX745c. I've been using jigs and Jika rigs with them. So far this season I've caught about 15 bass using those 2 rods. I haven't caught anything big with them (3.34 pounds) but the reels are very smooth while pulling the fish in and cast great. I think the casting distance comes from the outside dial. Sometimes while using my chronarch 201e7 I wish I could somehow use "2 1/2" brakes instead of 3. I know you guys will say use your thumb but the CI4+ solves that problem with the outside dial. I use 2 brakes, I have the spool tension set so there is just a little side to side movement, and the outside dial is set anywhere between 2 - 4 just depends on the wind and lure weight. I've taken the bearings out on both reels and flushed them. I think the reels are great, I love how far I can cast with them and will buy more of them.

Here's what I don't like and please remember these are just my personal opinions. The bearings come packed with grease. Taking the bearing out under the casting control knob is a pain in the A**!!!! I have no problem with the chronarch 201e7. I don't know why but screwing the casting control knob back on is difficult for me. I have no problem with the chronarch 201e7. I make sure I don't get any water or dirt under the outside dial, I'm not sure if it will cause problems but I don't want to take a chance. I also don't like the color LOL. I like the Star Wars black and white look of the Chronarch 201e7.

Now that the Curado I has been released, I suspect most guys will be leaning in that direction.

Did that.  But got 'locked'.

All I really wanted to find  was one or two 'pro' reviews of the features of this reel.  Can't seem to find one anywhere???  Surely somebody must have done a review of the features, pros, cons, etc.?

First off, if you're searching for Chronarch 114 Plus that's one problem. Second, the reel's correct name is Chronarch CI4+ (see-eye-four-plus).

It's awesome, get the HG model for a faster gear. Or not.

Maybe I'm confused by Shimano's model numbering system, but I thought the correct model name is:  "Chronarch C14+" ( i.e., see-one-four-plus) .   And I still can not find any 'pro' tests/reviews on this reel?

I think the Ci4 (SEE-eye-four) is a Stradic spinning reel, not a Chronarch baitcaster?

Ci4+ is the material they use, not reel model specific. So there is a Stradic and a Chronarch made of Ci4+

Stradic CI4 and CI4+ are spinning reels. Chronarch CI4+ is a baitcaster.

No wonder I'm confused.   I thought C14+  was  Shimano's model number, not the material. . .

It can be very confusing if you don't know. . .
