First, for Max and Endurance models is there a warranty if its your fault that the rod broke? It only states if a defect caused a break on their site.

Second, how is the 725-cf mag heavy? I was thinking on using one for 1oz jigs with trailer and small swimbaits in the 1 to 1 1/2oz range, does the rod match it's weight rating and how well can it perform at the higher end?

If you purchase your rod from the fish ranger it comes with a free over the counter warranty. They'll replace it no matter why it breaks. They also have the best price I've found on these rods. I don't have the 725 but I can say with the Powell's I do own, they don't feel overloaded when using them at the top of their lure ratings.

Hopefully Teal will chime in and answer the second part of your question more specifically. He owns about a dozen endurance models and I believe he has the 725. You could send him a pm too. He'd be glad to help you out. Very nice guy.

That is a good price, I have a local shop that has one and they're both comparable in prices. I'll keep that place in mind

Are you set on the 725?  I have the Endurance 775, not fished it yet, and primarily got it for Pitching.  But, I understand it is a great jig rod from other posts I have read, not sure how it will do for small swimbaits.

I probably didn't help you out with this though.  Good luck and enjoy the new rod!

The Endurance is a great rod. I've just never used the 725, so I don't want to give you advice on something I haven't personally handled. I doubt you'd be getting a dud with the quality I've experienced with all the other Powell rods though.

Nope, I can get it for a really good price new. I seems like a light and balanced rod in hand. Though it would be specifically for big jig and small swimbaits in that 1-1 1/2 range, I just don't want the rod to fall short on its rating.

Have you ever broken or damaged a rod and had to return it, do they cover user fault somehow?

Sorry, never had to deal with customer service. I don't remember the warranty off the top of my head either.

I have used their warranty for a rod that my buddy slammed the rod locker on and broke off the tip.  Paid the $50 or whatever it was at the time (think its gone up a little) and sent the rod in and had a new rod in about a week.  They were great to deal with.  The owner replied to my email within a few minutes of sending it both times I have dealt with them.  Great rods and customer service.

Don't have any experience with the rod you are looking at so I can't help you out there.  Good luck!
