Banned-99884 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I Have a Revo Sx Gen 3 With 20 pounds of drag or a BPS Pro Qualifier 7.1:1 with 11 pounds of drag. Which One should i put on my new jig rod? More drag Lower Gear ratio or less drag higher gear ratio? The rod is a *** *** Black 7'1 Med Heavy Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 22, 2014 Super User Posted February 22, 2014 The amount of drag doesn't really matter. If your reel is set correctly its going to be set between 3 and 5 lbs, unless u lock it down for the exception of super thick cover, punching or froggin. Either gear ratio is fine ..(6 or 7) Quote

Super User aavery2 Posted February 22, 2014 Super User Posted February 22, 2014 I have always felt like magnetic reels lend themselves well to pitching and flipping because of the relatively low spool speeds generated by these techniques. The SX will also provide good drag pressure and have enough IPT to be effective. Quote
