The gear with the 2 arrows on it that you have to point towards the other gear with the stem on it, it's little nub part. Any trick to lining these up correctly? I've tried re aligning it dozens of times and am getting a weird grind on 1/3 of handle turn.... Don't worry I'm practicing on a sienna, havent broke a Stradic or sustain :) .... On side note have baitcaster maitnence down pact.

I don't have one in front of me but the oscillation gear (small one) goes in first. Start with the pin toward the back of the reel and turn it until the alignment mark is as close as possible to where the stem of the main gear will insert. Insert the main gear with the arrow pointing right at the alignment mark of the other gear. Once right, it should oscillate smoothly with no "bump". Hope this helps. The bill's in the mail. (just kidding) Good luck

It felt like it was oscillating find I was getting a grind in the handle. When I put the arrow 90' off of the nub part it was grinding full handle turn so I know this is the problem. Every time I try to reset the two gears I get a different amount of grind. Actually it's more like a rubbing friction feeling than grind... Anyhow gonna do what you said over the weekend. Thanks bro!
