Storing Spinnerbaits??

I'm upgrading my tackle storage situation this year and am wondering how you guys store your spinnerbaits and buzzbaits? Have any of you tried the plano FTO boxes? My bag could fit a couple of the 3600 sizes of that. I tend to use 3/8 oz. and 1/2 oz. spinnerbaits. I either fish from shore using my bag or from a kayak with everything in a milk crate. I've heard of guys using cd binders, my bag could maybe fit those in the side pockets.... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried a few of the different spinnerbait boxes and wasn't happy with any of them.  I recently purchased an AMP Bags Spinnerbait wallet and I love it.  It fits 12+ spinnerbaits in slots and folds up in a unique fashion to keep all the spinnerbaits in the wallet.  I really like it so far and would recommend it if you don't have luck with the boxes.

yup i store mine in the plano spinnerbait 3600 tray its great, holds 18 i believe. I have about 10 in there all 3/8oz

I store all my baits in 3600 and 3700 Plano boxes. I really like the spinner bait versions, they now fit in my tackle bags right along side the other boxes.

I agree with doyle, I have a 25-30 yr old Plano hard box that holds 66 spinner/buzz baits!

I have both the upright and the 3600. I use the 3600  now because of the compact size and so it  fits in my backpack. Ill use the upright once I have a boat. I use the 3600 hundred to hold my buzz baits also even though they are not really clamped in to tight as the spinnerbaits, but I place it in my backpack in a way that they  they stay put. (the buzz baits that is). They also have one thats made to store both.

Last year I had zero issues in the boat with spinnerbait storage.......................because I never once had one in the boat all season.    lol      But normally I use the stand-up one with the three inserts.   

 

When I go non-boater off in foreign waters where I don't know if I need spinnerbaits or not, I have customized a normal 3700 Plano box by taking a couple parallel compartments and using side cutters making a little notch in the divider for the R bend to fit into.  I only do this for about half the total length of the compartments every 1/2 to 3/4 inch and makes it so I can carry 6 or 8 spinnerbaits without having to take up space elsewhere.   In that same space I can carry some trailer hooks and a replacement skirt or two.

That's why they make different boxes. Nothing is for everyone.

I just got the 3505. I can put my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits it it. D&M buzebaits lay at slight angle,Calvitrons fit perfect.

I have a falcon zip hard shell thing I don't know what you would call it lol but I only use that when I'm a co angler on the boat I made a rack with a corner guard and some foam that holds all my buzz baits/spinnerbaits/whatever else I stick in it all on the lid of my storage compartment

My Wal-mart has about 10-12 Plano FTO's on clearance for 9 bucks.  I have the original Falcon FTO's and I love them. If I had a boat, I'd go with the deeper hanging boxes.  I also have a zip up binder. It is the same type of system in the bigger FTO box.  It suits me great when I am bank fishing.

I've tried the stand up boxes and really don't care for them.  I really like the binder style ones. I have the BPS spinnerbait binder. I think it may have been discontinued, I'm not totally sure, but browning has one that's very similar. What I really like about them is that you can store a lot of spinnerbaits in them. Also, if I'm fishing out of a different boat, they can be put on top of my tackle trays in my top loading tackle bag.

If you only have a handful of spinnerbaits these boxes work quite well also.   I have a couple of these boxes but they have been re-purposed to store my panfish micro plastics (in 2"x3" poly bags) extremely well.

Had the upright box - hated it. Blades and hooks would get tangled and it was difficult to tell spinnerbaits apart when they were similar colors

Had the flat box- hated it. Didn't like the fact I had to bend the wires to store them and they would always pop lose causing the bait to get tangled with the other ones. Plus it took up allot of space.

Tackle bag - best solution so far. Can keep baits separate and doesn't take up much space. No wire bending either.

Eventually someone will come up with an ingenious solution to this question and will be an instant millionaire. I just hope it's me.
