Brian Needham Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Interesting..... I understand Rolo's questions from both a spiritual and just been curious point of view. I dont know Rolo thoughts are believe, nor do I need to. to ask and to wonder is to be human, to be natural...... and that is by design. We should wonder and seek the answer, if be only asking questions. To do anything else would to be asleep. There inlies the problem with our task..... we are human, and we do have the burden of knowledge, or at very least the percieved burden. I do "know" however, no matter how or why we are here, it is on purpose, down to the tiniest detail.... that I can see with my own eyes. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted February 27, 2014 Super User Posted February 27, 2014 This explains it completely. I took an ancient civilization class, and my professor hates that show. Someone raised their hand and said they saw an episode that was related to subject we was going over. The professor ignored him and kept talking then eventually said, "it was not the bleeping aliens." Everyone in class laughed. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 27, 2014 Super User Posted February 27, 2014 You are correct. And that's the point. I'll ask one more question. Given the choice between being yourself, or being the universe, which would you choose? Interesting. When I think about it, our lives are our own little universe. Complete with vastness, unexplained forces, aliens, and misguides meteors as well as shooting stars, heavenly bodies and the one you love. So, when I'm doing it right, I pick me. A-Jay Quote

The Rooster Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Thick sliced for me! Any thinner than Kate Upton and I'm not into it. She's borderline herself from the images I saw. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted February 28, 2014 Super User Posted February 28, 2014 OK boys, get back on topic or this thread gets locked. Quote
The Rooster Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Ok, concerning the universe and insignificance, I don't feel very much so at all. As a matter of fact I actually feel of vast and great importance. I believe the vast majority of the universe is what we'd call empty wasted space, is for no real purpose other than to serve as a distraction which should be ignored, or to represent some meaning that is beyond my comprehension, but if this is so then it is also completely needless for me to know anyway, and intelligent life only exists here, will be found no where else, and the whole thing was created especially for the purpose of US to be here where we are now and to be doing what most people aren't. I'll be respectful of the site policies and stop there, but I'm sure you know what I mean. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted February 28, 2014 Author Super User Posted February 28, 2014 715 new planets discovered. I think it's truly only a matter of time before some form of intelligent contact is acknowledged...since we all know that intelligent contact has been made. http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/26/tech/innovation/nasa-new-planets/ 1 Quote
The Rooster Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I'm curious to know where it has been made at? I have not heard or read anything I'd deem credible to make me believe it yet. Much of what I read about their sciences and techniques and math formulas to arrive at different theories and hypothesis I tend to think is pure hog wash. If they were to discover some kind of life that I could actually recognize, I'd have to rethink some things I believe, but the primary thing I believe would still be dominant and this new life would have to fit in with that or I'd say it was fabricated for the sake of a story. Super User Redlinerobert Posted February 28, 2014 Author Super User Posted February 28, 2014 I'm a firm believer that contact with extra terrestrial life has been made. It's just not been made public. 2 Quote
The Rooster Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Hmm....you know what? In one sense, I can also say I'm a firm believer that contact with extra terrestrial life has been made, but it HAS been made public. We've known about it for 2000 years now. LOL. I never thought about it just like that before. Thanks for leading me in that direction. That was interesting. At one time, I did at least wonder if anything else out there existed for us to find, and tended to believe it did. Then the more religious I got, the more I learned, I began to realize that if it did/does exist, it would have the same creator that I have, and would at least be humanoid in shape, even if they're 8' tall, have 6 fingers and toes, and are covered with green skin. I also believe that Jesus would have had to go to each of their worlds and do the same for them as he did here for us. It tends to be easier for me to not believe that there are other worlds because of this alone. Not that he couldn't have done so, just that it seems unlikely, that's all. Quote
The Rooster Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Of course I also do wonder about certain happenings and discoveries here on earth also. What made them? What the heck are crop circles? A hoax, or are they real? The movie "Signs" at least played on this as a theme for its plot. Makes me wonder though... Quote
