I've been hitting the Stripe and Musky pretty hard lately.  I'm expanding my arsenal substantially.  I've gotten loads of stuff recently.  I'm still looking to get some new wake baits and glide baits.

My next order will be a S-Waver or a Glide Swimmer, a Sebile Magic Swimmer 145, Whopper Plopper, Bubble Popper 150.

So, which do you prefer the River2Sea S-Waver or Savage Gear Glide Swimmer?    Sebile Magic Swimmer or Lucky Craft Jointed Pointer?

I guess I'm just looking for some additional suggestions on glides, topwaters and wakebaits.  I know this is a Bass Forum, but I know many of you throw these baits too!

I like the r2s personally i own both but find the s waver tied on way more. the glide swimmer is a little less restricted movement and sinks faster. both have there time an place.

I'm trying to get into these myself. Seems like the 3 you mentioned are the popular ones to start out with. I have the S waver in 168 and magic swimmer in 125. The savage will be my next purchase. Also picked up the jackall giron to try out.

Thanks for the replies.  I may make an order at monster whenever I decide.

S-waver 200 would be good bigger bait option when they start selling them again. Basshole gave you good info comparing the s-waver and glide swimmer.

I picked up a Custom Painted Trout Pattern Savage Gear swim n jerk in a 5-1/4 inch model recently on Ebay. I took it to a lake out of town yesterday...im running it with a 7:0 KVD Burner Reel,14# Bass Pro Mono, on a MH 7'6" Fenwick Fenglass rod. Feels REALLY good. A whole bunch of action from the bait with the slightest movement of the rod or turn of the reel handle. It produces a REAL nice S shape upon retrieval. Its a slow sinking model and I noticed it created a real nice wake as it came closer to the bank...id like to buy more but the only ones I can find on Ebay anymore are the soft models...im pretty amped about throwing this when I finally get out on the water...

None of the above for musky....too fragile, especially the S-Waver.

My suggestions are based on personal preference.

21st Century Triple trout in 7" and 8" slow sinking swimmer.

Black Dog Lunker Punker in 6" and 8" surface

MS Slammer in 8" wake

Tend to agree with Tom.  The baits you mention are a little fragile for Muskies, really.  Now, if we're talking small stream fish that you're generally looking for at sub forties fish, it's not a big deal.  If you're looking at the chance of anything bigger, any chance at all, go with Slammers, Punker, or Muskie Snax.

The Bubble Popper isn't bad for Muskies, but not generally a bait that I would fish.  The Plopper is a SUPER bait for Mooskies, and for big Green Fish.  It's also a stellar striper bait.

I've ordered a few S-Wavers in the second largest size 168  or 6-3/4".

I've also ordered a few Sebile Magic Swimmers in size 165 or 6-1/2".

I've got a Whopper Plopper 130 and 190.

I've got a Bubble Walker and Bubble Popper both in the 150 size.

I've got a few topwater Wide Glides now too.

I've got some Lazer eye Jointed 9" Salt Jerks, Koppers Perch, Saltwater Skitter Walks, Rapala Super Shad Raps and Gliding Raps, Shallow Invaders and a bunch of llungen bucktails.

For the less toothy critters I've now got a bunch of Savage Gear 3D Trout, Line Thrus, and Real Eels.

You'll like the S-waver, I sure like mine. Never caught a muskie with one but it stood up to this guy just fine and if you catch a muskie as heavy as it was you better call somebody!

the main difference between the S-Waver and Glide Swimmer to me is the sink rate.  S-Waver sinks faster.  That is why I believe there is a place and time for both of them.

Well, I've got two different reports on sink rates of the S-Waver vs. Glide Swimmer.

im just going by my own experience.  in shallow, moving water I prefer the glide swimmer.  S-Waver gets down to rocks to fast and gets hung up more.

Next order I'll probably get a Glide Swimmer as well.  I like Savage Gear too much to not give it a try.

Well tak our advice for what its worth.... and take 30 bucks and buy one of each baits you'll enjoy both as I've caught fish on both baits and you can arrive at your own opinions on them
