SpencerLittle Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Anyone here fish it regularly? I've been on it several times in different times of the year and canny for the life of me figure it out. Quote
volchuck Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 only been once myself and it took us all day to find the bass. Guy in our club who fishes it regularly sweared by a red rattle trap there, anything red is what he said, and that is absolutely all we could get bit on...tifwiw big fish in the lake if you can locate them for sure, no specific location for us or I would share, it was more of a depth issue, we were shallow and they were relating more to points a little deeper.. good luck Quote
SpencerLittle Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 Thanks. Next time we go up there I'll try to pick up some some red stuff. I have several traps might pick up some cranks and worms. With all the big fish caught from other lakes and released there during tournaments every year there is no way there aren't some monsters in there. Quote
TNRanger Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I've been fishing it regularly this year (since early March). Now that it's summer the top water has been decent early and they move to about 12'-16' after that. I try to fish the points at that depth with crankbaits and Carolina rigs. Few jigs here and there. I've basically learned it's not a numbers lake but it has a lot of big fish. Here's a hog I caught Saturday. Quote
Skeeter Dan Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I have never been there but I plan on going some time this week. Quote
lanman_38 Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I live close and I am about to start fishing it a lot more regularly and try to figure it out a little more. I have seen some good fish come from Beech Lake. Quote
tnriverluver Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I use to fish Beech a lot up until about 12 years ago. Actually lived on Eastern Shores. It was always lots of open water and very heavy pleasure boating and skiers. I went there last year for the first time in many years and the lake was so choked in weeds I could barely run my outboard out on the main lake much less run a trolling motor anywhere else. There was only about a 100 yard strip down the center of the main lake that was open. I don't know when this lake became weed infested but it has bad problems now and this is not the kind of grass you want in a lake. If you go make sure you have a very long push pole. Even in 20 ft the weeds are THICK!!!!! I have not been this year so it may be different after the hard winter we had. Quote

The weeds are not bad at all and I have been fishing it reguraly since March. Quote

Probably around the end of Aug-1st part of Sept when I was there. Unfortunately the Carroll 1000 Acre lake has much the same issue. Again I have been to neither so far this year so things might be different. Quote
tnriverluver Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I have a friend that keeps a camper down at Crazy Doe and he told me the weed problems started about 5 years ago. Quote

MemphisFF Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 After leaving Ky lake today we stopped by Carroll county lake and spent an hour on it.. Definitely was full no dam breakage.. Caught one dink and decided it was too hot and decided to get home.. Good looking lake! Quote

Could be mistaken but I'm sure it was Carroll That is the old small TWRA operated Carroll Lake. Not the new Carroll Co 1000 acre lake. 40 plus year old spillway gates broke after a heavy rain. Quote
