Not here.....smoked pork butt, baked beans (first time i ever made them from scratch and on the smoker), mac & cheese and of course cole slaw and potato salad (no pics of those as you can already see).  The beans turned out really good and next time i will make them a little more BBQ flavor and a touch more spice but the pork butt may have been one of the best i have ever made.

We got another 8" of snow today. It's supposed to be 50 by Thursday. I just got my bbq sauce in from thehotsauceshop, and hope to smoke some butt this weekend. Maybe even some pork. :wink2:

Way to beat the cold! Never too cold to fire up the grill.

My wife grilled a pork tenderloin last night. High temp was 10°F when she started and was down to 8°F when it was done. Just need a little more charcoal to keep it hot enough. Kids and I chowed on dinner.

Scrapple sucks. How you can eat that stuff is beyond me.

OK I'm done now.

Looks awesome! I did 25lbs of front shoulders for works christmas party this year, had people wanting me to open a shop. What are you running for a smoker?

I just two weeks ago did johnny trigg ribs, you gotta try that if you havent. Didnt even need sauce although I made sauce from scratch too with apple butter.

I use a 22.5" Weber smoky mountain cooker.  I am not a sauce guy when it come to my ribs, i prefer the dry rub on all of my smoked meats.  I have thought about trying to make my own BBQ sauce though as it really isn't that hard to do from what i have researched but it takes some time to get the flavor profile you want.

And i grill or smoke 2-3 times a week year round too and i am not in warm weather florida :)

I have seen people use water heater insulation blankets on their smokers in sub freezing temps too with pretty good success.  I have more issues with the wind than the outside temps.  Like someone else said, it just burns a little more fuel which i am ok with and since i started using the minion method for starting up my fire it is pretty hands free once the temperature levels out after about 60-90 minutes.

I would be happy to throw a bassresource.com party but my fiancee might not be to keen on it.  I think the better option would be to throw the WSM in the jeep and bring it along for a meet & greet :)  And actually if you cook a pork butt overnight and when it is done, take it and wrap it tight in aluminum foil and then in towels and put it in a cooler it will stay hot for at least 6 hours.

If the VA meet and greet happens and it is in mid august or later, i will bring the gear to make it happen :)

That looks great!

I love grilling in the winter, makes me feel a little closet to the summer months, even if there is snow on the ground. I grilled some great steaks a week or two ago when it was in the single digits outside. Just put the grill on the patio right outside the door and check the steaks when I need to, good stuff.

I agree. Unless it's actually snowing outside, it's always a good day for grilling. I've been known to grill in the garage on rainy days. I just open the door and put the grill just inside far enough to not get wet.

These plans have changed. 50 tomorrow and back to the single digits shortly there after. Maybe next weekend....
