chromedog Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I want to add a few different jerkbaits to the arsenal and I was thinking about a few of the DUO Realis rip baits. What do you guys think of them, how are they? Do the suspenders actually suspend? Finish, hooks? Thanks. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted February 17, 2014 Super User Posted February 17, 2014 The finish is great, hooks are better than average. They do suspend very well and they do catch fish, a lot of pickerel for me. I havr both sizes and used them all last season. Great quality bait for the money. Quote
alexandboi Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I think they are great for the price. Hooks are pretty good for stock, finish is pretty good, and they suspend pretty well too. I have 5 and all of them suspend well. I haven't ran into any problems with them yet. Caught quite a few fish on them last year, but haven't got to fish this year yet. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted February 17, 2014 Super User Posted February 17, 2014 I don't have any of their jerkbaits but I do have a couple of their other baits. The finishes are great and the components are good too. I didn't feel the need to change out the hooks, which says a lot for me. TT just did a review of one of the suspending jerkbaits and gave it high marks. I will definitely be buying more Duo baits. Quote
JKarbo214 Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 These are great baits. They do suspend and the fish love them. I think all the DUO baits have VERY sharp hooks. No need to swap them out in my opinion. I've used both sizes and they have quickly become my favorite jerkbait. I have liked all the DUO baits I've tried so far and I'm looking forward to some of the others still to come. Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted February 18, 2014 Super User Posted February 18, 2014 When they first released these baits in the states, I had the chance to be involved in an on line chat with the North American Representative. When he told me that they were going to have an initial price of 20-22 dollars a bait, I told him that I did not think that there was much room in USDM for baits at that price, he went on somewhat of tirade and told me that I had no idea what I was talking about, all in all I found him to be a complete jerk. I was contacted by the company sometime after that chat and was informed that the employee was no longer with them and asked if I would like to try one of their baits, I politely refused and let them know that I did appreciate the call and the offer. I see their baits have dropped in price by about 20-25% since their initial release. I always thought they looked like good baits but I will never have one tied on the end of my line after the way they represented themselves initially. Quote
