BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 17, 2014 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 17, 2014 It sure seems that way! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/klein-zebco-21714.html 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 17, 2014 Super User Posted February 17, 2014 An interesting & nostalgic way to get some camera time. Perhaps it will bring him some good Classic Mojo ~ after 3 decades, he certainly needs it. Good Luck Mr. Klein. A-Jay Quote
Brian Needham Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I like Klien...... he is one of the old school guys that I would love to hear stories from. I really hope he is able to weight in a fish using that 33. after all the 70k boats, 60k trucks, 15k in electronis, and $1500 combos, it would be nice to see a throwback or two. 2 Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted February 17, 2014 Super User Posted February 17, 2014 I hope he catches the lunker of the tournament on that thing. Would be quite the story. LOL 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 17, 2014 Super User Posted February 17, 2014 Why would he not be able to weigh in a fish? I think better gear makes "fishing" more fun, but has very little impact on "catching" for the average angler. However, at the very top levels of competition, especially at The Classic, EVERY little thing helps. Just ask Aaron Martens what one fish is worth. 1 Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 17, 2014 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 17, 2014 I think you misunderstood, RW. He meant it as, "I hope Gary catches one on that reel." 3 Quote
Brian Needham Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Glenn is correct. I perhaps could have worded it more clear. Quote
Super User MCS Posted February 17, 2014 Super User Posted February 17, 2014 I like him and I hope he does well wether he used that 33 or not, but it sure would be cool if he did get a fish to the scales from that combo. It is also pretty funny he is mounting in $19 dollar reel to a $120 dollar smoke rod LOL 3 Quote
Super User tomustang Posted February 17, 2014 Super User Posted February 17, 2014 Looks more like a Omega, Not A 33. Quote
VolFan Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I think it's great, and I hope he stays high on the leaderboard with it. Guntersville might not be the best lake for a slower pit, but with a shallow crank he should be able to get some fish. Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 a zebco 33 will catch bass just fine. what amazes me is that some of yall would be amazed if he caught a fish on the 33. that really has me baffled. ive caught plenty of bass(up to 4lbs) on a 33 when it was all i had 8 or so years ago. now i admit, its not ideal for all baits, but i mostly used plastics at that time anyways, which its fine for. one day i tied a small spinnerbait on it, got hit hard by a 1lb bass and it stripped the main gear in the reel(i still landed the fish). so yeah, as long as he isnt fishing moving baits, the 33 will be fine for some applications. but regardless, there is no need to be surprised that a 33 can catch and land a bass... 1 Quote
Brian Needham Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Glenn.......... since you are there on site........ let him know we are rooting for him and the "33"! Quote
5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Someone needs to bust out one of those pink $20 girls Shakespeare combos with the push button cast!!!! 1 Quote
lmoore Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Really cool of Mr. Klein, hope he does well this year. It owul be great to see either him or AMart get a well-deserved win. 1 Quote
Zebco Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 That is the 2014 60th Aniversary 33. And yes, it does look similar to an Omega. 1 Quote
