Has anybody fished in the Utah smallmouth lakes, like Jordanelle, Pineview, Deer Creek? If so, what are the best ways to catch them?

They fish like typical smallmouth lakes. Traps, crank baits, etc at times and drop shot at other times. Top water occasionally. From my experience. Colors do vary because the forage is different at times.

Try 3" grubs too. Smoke with copper flake.

i've only fished PV enough to give advice. We had the best results using plastics. Specifically rage craws on a c rig and dropshot, also worms on the drop shot produced. This was mid to late summer.

Post up with your results. There aren't many Utah anglers here, I'm curious to hear how you fish Utah waters.

Jordanelle in June on the rock cliffs side is when they spawn. Throwing a rainbow colored jerkbait (sportsmans warehouse has a strike king KVD jerkbait that is my go to lure) is the best way to have a good time last year I caught a double, that was awesome. Deer creek is good with soft plastics but you're only going to catch dinks
