I guess I am missing the joke...  :dazed-7:

Three for a dollar and enough salt to keep Lake Michigan from freezing over. I use the spice packet to make pickles because they taste good, and they pickle well. However, there are 3.2 million college students who are alive because of them.

I as a college student. I am offend by that. I work part time. So I can afford the big malt o meal cereal bags, oatmeal, and milk. That is what is keeping me alive. I am just kidding. I try to eat a variety of food on a daily basis.

Healthy eating. I lived on Ramen, Snickers bars and beer after I got divorced. That was the thinnest I had ever been.

Boil ramen noodles, drain water, add cheddar cheese with season packet to drained noodles, profit!

On a serious note, cheep food like this helped me through though times, and raised my cholesterol and BP to astronomical levels, and I'm still running my rear off to fix that ten years later. . .

Put some hot sauce on it and you'll be alright. Throw in some potted ham, maybe a can of oysters. Heck you got a dang good meal right there.

Pack of ramen, sirloin steak sliced added in, squirt of kikkomon... just saying

Adding sirloin to Ramen noodles is like smearing caviar on Wonder bread...just saying :cooking-egg-31:

Ramen noodles are in the same class as Spam, Vienna Sausages, Deviled Ham and other food-like products. There was a time when I thought all of these things were good. Now I would have to really be hungry with no other options before I would eat from that list.

I use it when camping and of course when i was in college.

For camping it is usually noodles cooked, drained half a sauce packet added then i cut up and put in the kielbasa i had frozen.  makes for some good protein and carbs for the next day.

The salt level in those things is ridiculous though....i remember making triple batches of the stuff in college

Through College, every morning for about three years, I would eat a packet of Ramen Noodles for Breakfast.  I even used to just eat them in their petrified state right out of the packet.  Now as an adult and a Dad, those Ramen Noodles don't make their way into the house.  Though, just typing has me craving them a little.

Times change, spam cost the same as ham now and at many times ham goes on sale for way less.

As for steak, the ramen gives it flavor, just like most steak is eaten since not many people can eat their meat plain. Even fillet mignon needs seasoning/sauce or bacon wrapped around it for taste

As a college student I try to avoid it as much as possible because it just isn't filling. Chunky soup is the way to go! You get so much more out of it just for that little bit extra cost! However, if I have to then I get the spicy chicken Cup of Noodles which are a disgusting 3 for $1 I think.

Ramen noodles has helped me and the wife through hard times. Its not often that a couple can eat a meal for 2 for less than 40 cents. ( three packs).

Fried Spam, sliced up, mixed into Ramen is the bomb! Actually, fried Spam with anything is. Especially the Bacon Spam. Or the Jalapeno Spam. And no, I'm not kidding. Love it!
