conorsixtakc Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I came into a mess of crappie fillets this weekend from La Cygne. I'm going to be deliberately naive here - what have you guys heard about consuming quantities of fish from coal powered plant lakes, La Cygne in particular? I know a lot of you guys fish this lake quite a bit. Quote
conorsixtakc Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 No issues with eating them Awesome! Thank you. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted February 18, 2014 Super User Posted February 18, 2014 I don't think cbass has a clue what he's talking about! :/ you shouldn't eat those, you better just send them to me! 2 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 18, 2014 Global Moderator Posted February 18, 2014 I wouldn't eat them, but I don't eat fish from anywhere so take that for what it's worth. KDWPT doesn't say anything about not eating them on their website with the other consumption warnings. 2 Quote
Chris S Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 IMO the fish from La Cynge are not as tasty as fish from say Hillsdale or Melvern 1 Quote

If we get any tomorrow you should clean them for me so I dont have to get my hands dirty. 1 Quote
conorsixtakc Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 I appreciate all the feedback. I got talked into going out with a couple crappie guys and we ended up cleaning 83. They're getting saved for a Memorial Day fish fry. If any of you guys know you'll be around the Gravois Arm (North Buck Creek Cove) at that time, don't make yourself a stranger! Quote

RipSomeLips Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 The only fish I eat from Kansas are the trout that are stocked. I do fish a lot of smaller urban ponds though and I have a high concern for fertilizer runoff etc. Quote
