Arv Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I realize this will come down to personal preference but I'm going to ask anyways. I'm looking for a new spinning rod that I will use as for fishing from my kayak in streams, etc. during floating/camping trips and day trips. However, I still plan on using this rod on lakes when I will not need the extra room for camping gear (which will be more often). So, how valuable do you all think a 2 piece rod would be in this situation? I'm the kind of guy that will hold out to get what I want as opposed to settling. The two rods I'm thinking about a 6'9 m/f Fenwick Elite Tech SM 2pc spinning and a Dobyns Champion 682/683sf if that helps any explanation at all. Quote

Do you want to spend $130 or $230? I haven't fished any Dobyns rods, but have the Smallmouth rods. The Champions might be better, but I seriously doubt $100 better. Quote
