Hey all!  I was wondering how all you BIG swim bait fellas store your baits.  Hudds, Slammers, Hardgills, Bull shads, etc.....  I am getting into tossing some of these baits and I just wondered if anyone had any tips or suggestions.  Thanks.

I store mine hanging.  I rigged a big Rubbermade box with snaps in the top so the baits can hang freely.  I think this is especially important with soft baits.

I use the flambeau double deep open style 3700 size with hook bonnets to prevent tangles and hook rash. and the plano 3700 open layout for soft baits in their original package.

I seem to have seen a pic of this at one time.  Posted by J Francho maybe?  It rings a bell.

Awesome.  I never would have thought of that one.  Spending that kind of money on some of them and if I decided to have a custom, the bonnets make total sense!  Thanks.

For the hard swimbaits you can lay them down, however it's better if the remain dry.

The soft swimmers like Hudds with boot tails should hang vertical head up.

My expensive hard swimmers go into Sistema KlipIt meat keeper plus 1.75 liter, holds 2 to 3 hard baits. The Sistema's box has a raised bottom grate that keeps the lures dry.

Hudds go into modified Lock & Lock 4 liter storage boxes, with clips added to the lid, holds 8 Hudds.

Both of these boxes are available from container stores and soft plastic safe.

All my other swimbaits go into regular swimbait lure boxes from Plano, #3731

no problem i use the owner bonnets theyre around 3.99 a pack. i use the blue (med) and yellow (lrge) and that should cover most all your swimbaits except smaller 4" sizes

I've started using these extra large utility trays I got from T.W.  these are the 141-IQ and 142-IQ boxes and comes with zerust.  I use the flat dividers and sandwich the tails of glide baits to keep them flat and straight with a binder clip.
