Pz3 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 So in the last 6 months I went from having almost no tackle (some hooks, worms, and weights) to all of this which is getting pretty stuffed. I never fished with spinners and jigs before 6 months ago. Im pretty much dead set on getting a Plano 9606 in the near future which is a lot bigger but wondering what direction I should go. Large Variety of lures or large variety in the types I like to fish..... Anyways how does it look, what are your thoughts? Quote
Stingray23 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 As a tackle junkie, I would advise you to buy what works. Try out a few things and see what works and what you like. Then, stock up on those lures. Quote
RyneB Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I am also a tackle junkie. 2 compartments in my Ranger are stuffed, I have stuff taking up a corner of my garage. The best things is, some days I don't even retie any of my setups. Just narrow down what works. For instance, if your main body of water is weed choked and not much open water, focus on frogs, T Rigged baits and other weedless baits. I could get by with a couple pack of shadalicious swimbaits, a couple white swim jigs with some trailers, a frog or 2, Koppers Mouse, some finesse worms, and some football heads. Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted February 16, 2014 Super User Posted February 16, 2014 Looks like you have a great start going. Like mentioned don't get too tied up in it all. Find what works and build your collection from there. Though it is nice to have a large amount of tackle to choose from,I find myself being able to fish a whole day with 3 3700 Plano boxes minus a few bags of soft plastics. I feel confident enough that I could take these items with me and catch fish on any body of water. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted February 16, 2014 Super User Posted February 16, 2014 I would suggest getting some 3700 boxes and start keeping your tackle somewhat organized in those. Get a bag that holds a few 3700 boxes and you can pick and choose what boxes you want to take and swap them in and out of your tackle bag. 3 Quote

Super User Jrob78 Posted February 16, 2014 Super User Posted February 16, 2014 or 3600 size boxes and a back pack works well also. That's a great option too, especially if you bank fish. Quote
