crankcaster100 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I purchased a 7' 8 mojo bass glass rod med/heavy mod action today for jigging but I read the reviews and people are using it for cranking? Would it be better for me to exchange it for a better tod for jigging or do you think it would be OK for jigging? Thanks Quote
fishguy613 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 exchange it for sure, you bought the "big crankster" 2 Quote
Garret88 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Yeah, glass rods are for treble hook baits. The softness and lack of sensitivity would make for a poor jigging rod. I agree with Fishguy, exchange would be your best bet. Unless you want to keep it for deeper diving crankbaits. Quote
Avaitor63 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 The St.Croix Rage 7' MHF is a good choice.I use it for crankbaits and jigs. Quote
CJV Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Yeah you bought the wrong rod for use with jigs. That is a great deep diver rod though. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 16, 2014 Global Moderator Posted February 16, 2014 I have that exact rod and it is a great deep crankbait rod but would be a horrible jig rod. I agree with the 7' MH/F Mojo, it's a good jig and plastics rod. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted February 16, 2014 Super User Posted February 16, 2014 Premier 7' MHF if you want the full grip Quote
