Super User flyfisher Posted February 16, 2014 Super User Posted February 16, 2014 everything gives you cancer these days. Also, I find it hard that the study can accurately say 20% more likely to get cancer. yeah those types of studies are pretty ridiculous because there are so many variables involved not to mention many think that cancer is genetic or at least the predisposition to get it may be.... BassnChris Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Usually something like Bologna or ham sandwiches, chips and apples. Can't believe Brian has not chimed in.......he carries a small convenience store with him. 1 Quote
plumworm Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 The double duce is why I am always late to get on the lake. Iffin I get up at 5am or 6 or 7, It still takes 2 cups of coffee and 10 minutes of "thinking about it" to get the job done. Then, I am good for the day. Oh ya, food, Lots of water, a sammie if its all day, jerky, hard candy ,and my ever present little cigar. ( it's like food to me) How did I just make this post go down hill? Oh ya, now I remember. Who brought up the double duce to began with . Sorry 2 Quote
Super User tomustang Posted February 16, 2014 Super User Posted February 16, 2014 i find it interesting how many people here are posting things like jerky that are loaded with salt and take a ton of water to digest which makes pretty much everything you drink not used for hydration. Jerky gives energy, the salt may crave liquid but you could just wiz that off the boat, can't say that about fiber snacks Quote
that possum Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 16 posts before anyone mentioned vienna sausages. I usually make a few sammiches and keep em in the ice chest. Or some if those tuna packets with a cheap loaf of white bread. A few candy bars. Maybe a big cup of boiled peanuts, too. But that has consequences. I've crapped in most the major bass lakes in the south. And a bunch that weren't major. Quote

Super User WIGuide Posted February 16, 2014 Super User Posted February 16, 2014 Usually a pb&j and some fruit. During tournaments I don't eat though. I have a good breakfast and a big can of Monster and then Gatorade for the rest of the day and that's it. Quote
5fishlimit Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Cliff bars, beef jerky, and Gatorade. Quote
pbrussell Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Before hitting the water- a sausage biscuit, and an energy drink. On the water- Water/gatorade and a granola bar if I get desperate. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 16, 2014 Global Moderator Posted February 16, 2014 2 Sausage, egg, and cheese sandwichs and my 24oz coffee mug on the way to the lake. 2 Pb&j's and Monster Rehab on the water. I have to eat on the water or suffer the wrath of a blinding migraine headache later. Plus, fat boy likes his food 2 Quote
blongfishing Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I usually eat a big breakfast. Then I take beef jerky, crackers, occasionally a sandwich or two, water, tea, and Pepsi! Quote
0119 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Also I stopped eating Vienna sausages after I read the article on the cancer causing stuff in it and other "sausage" products. Eating one sausage a day increases your chances by 20%. I'm sure it's not just one sausage but I does increase the chances. Im German! If that was true, I'd never have made it past 5 years old 1 Quote
McAlpine Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Average tournament: Coffee and granola bar on the way. Coffee and dried apple fruit bar waiting for launch. Lunch: water, PB&J, fruit, cheese stick. More water, maybe a diet soda Something to snack on like peanuts or another dried fruit bar. Quote
NorthernAnglers Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 usually gatorade after gatorade... throw in a few granola bars maybe a bag of chips.... lol Quote
wnybassman Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Usually just things I can stuff in my mouth running from one spot to another. I never eat while fishing, just while motoring. So it is small packages of cheese/crackers, cliff bars and if I am fishing a larger multi-day tournament I will have peanut butter sandwiches on board. I try to force myself to drink water, but I know I don't drink nearly enough. Quote
Bassfishing375 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 When I'm in Canada we always have shore lunch with fresh walleye. Sometimes I eat sandwiches, particularly subway. Quote
SnazzySenko Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 I think you are referring to the sodium nitrite and sodium nitrate in processed meats....but wait a few weeks and a new study will come out and refute this claim too Yup that's it. And yeah probably will happen. Quote
SnazzySenko Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 Im German! If that was true, I'd never have made it past 5 years old HAHA! So I can start eating them again! We have proof! Lol Quote
Alpha Male Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I like to eat a large breakfast as well, I just make sure to use the bathroom before I leave the cabin. then its just powerade, water, pop, and some sunflower seeds with the occasional bag of chips or something. Quote
SudburyBasser Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Fun fishing I'll typically bring a sandwich or wrap with some water. Tournament fishing I'll bring a few granola bars, perhaps a hoagie, and water. Small breakfast with coffee before leaving in both cases. Low input, low output. Quote
pbrussell Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Now, If I could manage to somehow make a small fresh burger magically appear on my boat, I'd scarf that down while I was on the water. Guess boat companies need to start incorporating microwaves into the boat layout Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 16, 2014 Super User Posted February 16, 2014 Marlboros and Gatorade. Quote
mnbassman23 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Bananas... Just to prove its skill and not luck 2 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted February 16, 2014 Super User Posted February 16, 2014 Usually just some granola bars and a sandwich. I do freeze some water bottles so I can get a cold drink. Quote
fishinthedacks Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Beef jerkey wild bills smoked, slim jims, peanuts. Bring stuff high in protein in case I get stranded. Gatorade. And I've got a pizza place who delivers to my kayak or spillway etc Quote
