Super User Jig Man Posted February 14, 2014 Super User Posted February 14, 2014 Yes I do. You need spru extenders in order to help with this problem. You can buy them from places like Bears's but they are pricey when you add shipping. Some guys use sockets. I went to Lowe's and bought copper fittings that are about 1" long and set them on top of the holes. With them and pouring slowly the bait slots fill up and I get a sufficient amount of plastisol above the spru so that any shrinking will be filled up with plastisol instead of air. It isn't perfect but I rarely get voids in mine since the change. Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 He is hand pouring so an extender wont help. Try heating the plastic fairly hot so it is thinner. This can be difficult with a heavy salt mixture. You must pour a thin stream straight down the hole without touching the sides. Take your time and do two cavities per heat. Dont try all four or 5 at once. Keep topping off as plastic cools and sucks in. Quote
