The things I need to know are fit, break in time, how easly can they be water proofed, Every day wear, Etc. Here is a link to the ones I have been eyinghttp://wellco.com/military/Sage-Hot-Weather-Steel-Toe-Combat-Boots---S161B.

What are you planning to wear these for? Everyday use for work? Casual, hiking, hunting?

Every day work is the main reason. But I tend to wear boots almost all the time. When I am fishing, doing yard work, and Shoveling snow. You know stuff like that. I the only time I don't wear boots. Is when I am sleeping or working out.

I just went to there web site. I have never heard of them. They are not to munch more then wellcos, or the timber lands I have to replace. After only a year of normal use.

Ok hows the fit on bellville boots. I tend to wear any were from a 11 normal width to a 12 extra wide. In wolverines I was a 11.5 wide. My timber lands were 12 ew.

Wesco or Whites Boots. I wear Whites everyday. They are like wearing clouds on your feet. Custom sized and hand made in the USA. I'm bought to order a pair of blood red WESCO boots in a few months. They are supposed to be every bit as comfortable as the Whites. They last forever too. If they ever break or wear out Wesco will fix them for ya. Also made in the USA by hand.

I have never had luck finding a pair of red wings that fit. I once tired a 12 extra wide. It was way to tight in the width, and the length. I tried a 13 ew. It was to tight in the width. The length was ok. So I tried a 14 ew. Still to tight in the width. If they would have fit. I still would have not gotten them. There was a good 2 inches of toe space. And that was on my bigger foot.

Raider not sure I need if I need a million watts of protection like you need. Don't get me wrong them are nice boots. Just not sure If I could spend 400 plus on boots. At this point in my life right now.

To give you guys a better Idea. On why I kill boots. This is what I walk on every day. Some days the floor is blue from these things. To the point were you can't even see the floor. If your wondering what it is. I work in a machine shop. So its little flakes of metal.

A cheaper option Corcoran jump boots. Some of the longest lasting (had mine for eight years) combat boots available. Plus once again US made.

As for the watt protection. You never know when lightning may strike you.

Ha thanks for the laugh. But it is pretty close. All the males on my moms side of the family. Have a hard time finding shoes, or boots to fit us. Were all a size 11wide or bigger. My cousin is some thing like a 15 or 16 ew. I swear were the missing link.

Raider I will have to check them out. As for getting struck by lighting. I don't have a come back for that. As it sits right now. There is good chance it could happen. After all I am 6ft tall. Work in a machine shop. So I bet I have more metal imbedded in the first few layers of my skin. Then the normal person. I know some times when working out after work. I can smell wet metal when I sweat. Some times I smell like rust. I am a walking lighting rod.

I feel you cousins pain. I either wear a 14EW or a 15.

LOL walking lightning rod! You need to protect yourself from being grounded out then. Lightning aint what hurts. Its being the object that brings it to ground that hurts. :D

The soles on the Bellvilles may not last as long in that work area. They are good for hunting. My son inlaw swears by them

He went through 2 pair on each of his deployments. I personally like Danners with the soles that can be replaced for work.

I know wellco's soles can be replaced. That is one of the reasons why. I was looking at them. I heard a long time ago. Any sole can be replaced. You just have to find the right person.

Redwings are 10x better than Timberlands. Shame they won't fit over your flippers

I use to wear wolverines. But they stopped making the model I was wearing. I tried on a few pairs last year. Yes they fit. But not as good as the old model. I again tired on red wings. I still had the same problem like I said before. The wolverines I had. Never needed to be broke in. I would wear them while wadding in the water to fish. Even with me miss treating them. They would last any were from a year. To about two years. What I loved the most about them the most. The sole was a harder rubber. So metal chips didn't seem to get caught them as munch. I should have just bought the wolverines. But dumb me bought the timberlands.

Some time in the Next week. I will more then likely go back to were I buy my boots. I will give red wing a shot again. I will also try on wolverines again. I think I have some interesting info now though.

I beat the chit out of work boots. $100 Timberlands would last me 9 months to a year and I bought them every year for long time. My shop all of a sudden required a steel toe because many of our customers had those requirements. I didn't like the way the T Land steel toes felt and bought a pair of Redwings for about double what the T Lands cost. They were more comfortable, and lasted maybe twice as long. They have a 1 year replacement warranty and they replace shoelaces for free for the life of the boot. I had a pair where the sole at the toe started coming undone at the 11 month mark. Got a new pair under warranty no questions asked.

That's why I suggested the custom fit boots. They are tailored to your feet exactly. So they are guaranteed to fit perfect. Plus you wind up paying the same for them as you would for the others over the course of four or so years. Without having to get new ones and break them in. Lifetime warranties too. Whites makes more than just Lineman's and electrician boots. Price is a little cheaper than WESCO too.
