Hanover_Yakker Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I usually on roll with three to keep it simple, but in the spirit of the thread I'll make an exception 1. Suspending Jerkbait - usually a MirrOlure of some form 2. Topwater - frog or a Skitterwalk 3. Swimbait - PowerTeam Lures Swinging Hammer 4. Shakey Head - PowerTeam Lures 7" Finicky Tickler or 3.5" Food Chain Tube 5. Siebert Outdoors Brush Jig paired with a PowerTeam Lures Craw D'oeuvre. I'll throw in a sixth that is interchangeable with the topwater depending on conditions that day, and that is a drop shot with a PowerTeam Lures JP Hammershad or 5" Finicky Tickler. Quote

Bass Junkie Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Just a rudimentary list, but my starting lineup looks something like this: 1. Suspending jerkbait, either a Lucky Craft Live Pointer 95MR or Pointer 100SP 2. Bluegill flavored swim jig 3. Squarebill Crank, probably a LC RC1.5 4. Lipless Crank, either a Rapala Rippin' Rap or Sebile Flat Shad 5. Zoom Fluke I will have deeper running jerkbaits and cranks on hand for early season, maybe a spinnerbait as well. Quote

Wbeadlescomb Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 My old bass club used to have a 2 lure tournament every year. You could have two lures. Example you choose a Texas rig you get one hook one weight one pack of soft plastics Then you've still got one more bait. I'd usually take a pack of ultravibe speed craws 1/2 ounce tungsten weight and a flipping hook on 65lb braid. I could swim the ultravibe on top like a frog early then flip with it later on And a Davis swim jig with a pack of white ultravibes. Quote

Super User bigbill Posted March 6, 2014 Super User Posted March 6, 2014 Keep in mind I mainly fish from shore. 1. BPS topnocker #25 color chartreuse. "THE HOTTEST" topwater spook/walk your puppy lure ever designed. This lure should of came with a instruction video. This lure could make any non fisherman look like a pro. But the down all is that BPS discontinued the hottest topwater lure there ever was and will be. 2. Mann's Orginal Hank Parker Classic 1/4oz gold blades, blue glimmer skirt spinnerbaits with a mister twister white 4" split double tail grub used as a trailer w/Trailer hook. For clear, to slightly stained water. For stained to muddy water conditions or overcast days its the chartruese one with the mt chartreuse trailer. 3. Bomber FAT. A / model A size 05 in redapplecraw. The fat A has been discontinued but we can still find them. Any bomber in redapplecraw that runs shallow and floats can be used topwater or reeled slowly at any speed to run at any depth. I use all the colors that bomber offers in there cranks. But if I had to pick just one the redapplecraw da one. 4. Joesfly 1/4oz bass size in firetiger apache. Just a shot of yum shad. In low light, dusk, stained water conditions this one is one hot spin fly, inline spinner. The Joe's fly 1/4oz bass size in blackgnat works great in the light conditions. But as it gets darker switch to the firetiger apache or glo tiger for continued success. 5. Mister Twister TOP PROP in firecraw. This topwater propensity is something to scream off the roof about. It has many presentations. If we pause it, she almost stands straight up while the MT 4" split double tail trailer swims its heart out to the beat of the current. The strikes can happen at anytime. In the morning or evening in the low light conditions seems the best for me from shore. I have so many more to list but the rules say "5" only. Play with different color combinations for different lighting conditions. Do we need all these different colors? You bet we do.(fisherman quote) how true. Fishing to me is a challenge, it's a test of our skills. The more we know, the more we stay focused and motivated the more we apply our bass fishing knowledge the more success we we will have as bass fisherman. The same things apply to life too. Set your goals, stay focused and motivated towards our goals in life. You will have nothing but success. Success in life and bass fishing we have to work for it nothing, nothing is free or a given in life. God bless, bigbill Quote
