Spinning gear, I like 8 lb fluorocarbon or 10 lb braid with a leader.  I will bubba up my shaky gear often.  That means using a sensitive 7' jig rod, 15 lb fluorocarbon and a 3/8 to 1/2 oz jig head.  I will do this when I think I need a faster drop.

 

Incidentally, I think that the bubba shaky head is a great idea for a co-angler because it drops quick, giving a co-angler more bait on the bottom time.  JMO
