If I were to take my best guess as to where you could find a big, sloppy largemouth pushing 10 pounds in NH, I would guess in the lamprey river in Durham/Newmarket. The amount of food there is unlimited with the alwive spawn in the spring plus fish and game stocking it multiple times per year with trout. Ive seen pictures of 9's out of there.

Yup, that's a healthy fishery, nhbassin. Some real nice fish in there.

Oh, and mainebass, when we fish in Tx, we are not after 10lbers. 15-20lbs is more the target fish. If I caught an 18 down there, I'd be just as happy as if I caught a 10 here. I'm still looking to land my first teen fish down there, even though I have hooked into 2 that were well up there in the high teens, didn't land either of those fish. I also had a real 10 on my line here in NH (actually think it was over the record, but it's all speculation).

Couple from today. What a nice day it was out there! Lost the biggest fish of the day, a largie in the 4lb class, when she ran behind the boat, and through the running trolling motor. Oh well, still better than ice fishing, or NOT fishing. Got 7 altogether (5 sm, 2 lm), all about the size of the ones in these crappy pics. Sorry! Most were on a drop shot with either a Dream Shot, or a Pearl Rage Grub. The better fish ate the Grub.

Man, I really feel for ya. I also had a recent death in my family, and it's not a fun time. Hang in there, bud.

I am convinced there is a state record in Bow Lake.  When I was a young lad we were all swimming off the dam and there was a massive bass stuck in the dam boards that had been picked a bit by birds. Someone weighed it at just under 10 and it was missing quite a bit of meat.

That is awesome you were able to get fishing from your boat !

I went ice fishing yesterday. I caught 9 bass all smaller then the bass in your pictures. I also caught some crappie and salmon as well. Getting around on the ice was brutal, snow over my knees and 5 inches of slush... I would much rather be in my boat !

Yeah, Mike's gonna be all over the jigs this year. And Rage Craws. Right, Mike? He better be, or I'll spank him on his own lake. In a place like that, the bigger fish are going to come on jigs.

On Northwood lake? CHATTER BAITS!!@!@!@

Trust me on that lol.

My Gramps always liked Jeness Pond for some reason he used to fish Northwood and Jenness like it was going out of style. My uncle on the other hand lived in Wolfboro for awhile so he fished Winni a lot, but then moved back to Northwood and fishes there all the time, but they grew up together as kids fishing and hunting so they new all the spots on Northwood better than I ever could.

Jenness pond used to be an amazing spot back when I was little.

Too bad all those fish had to die. I wish the old timers knew what we know today about the preservation of these fish. Northwood is basically fished out for this exact reason.
