I'm planning a late march bass fishing trip to Florida and was looking for some opinions on which lake might be better for a chance of bigger bass ( 10lber would be real nice). Thanks.

IMO, Toho, I went with a guide who had a secret brush pile and we saw multiple 10lbets boil on our shiners! Didn't land any, but my dad caught a 9lber on a Carolina rig with a zoom fluke

Hmm, choices choices. Do you happen to know the closest airport to lake Istokpoga?

Thanks a ton for all the quick replies. Now I need to research a few things.

Fished Saturday and Sunday at istokpoga. Buddy and I were prefish ing for Sunday. Caught a 10, 8, 5, and got broke off on one even bigger flippin 65lb braid. The lake is BOOMING.

If you need a guide on Toho Kip Grunlo is the man

Toho if you want a true chance at landing a double digit bass

Okeechobee if you just want to catch numbers with a possible 7-8 mixed in.

My true goal is to catch a 10+ lber . Those are some nice fish being caught in the previous posts. Will much be any different say the last week of March compared to the action now?

A 10+ bass is no easy feat even in the lakes that have a fair number. In March Toho/kissiimmee will still have some spawners but the big girls will mostly be done.Poga seems to be the lake that is puttin out the most big bass but a 10+ will be a bonus.

East Lake Tohopekaliga

Lake Tohopekaliga

Lake Istokpoga

Lake Okeechobee

All killer lakes with huge fish in them. Can't go wrong. The two Tohos are closest to Orlando International. As for the others not real sure. I still like like Jessup the most. On the northeast side you can venture off into the St.Johns River which is good fishing too.

Lake Istapoga should be on your list..it is on fire as well.

The Big-I may not get the same press as the Big-O,

but it offers a better shot at a 12 pounder.

If you're target area includes central Florida, then Lake Kissimmee is your man.

During the last several years it's pig production has been through the roof.

I'm going to need a month to fish all these hawg  lakes lol. If time allows I'll try to fish a few of the lakes mentioned. The big O ,Lake Toho and Lake Istokpoga will be top priority until you guys give me more hawg havens to fish lol.

Kissimmee, Kissimmee, Kissimmee.

This should be your list if you want a double digit.  The other lakes mentioned are all good lakes, but for shear numbers of fish over 10 caught in the last few years, Kissimmee is the place to be.  I know of at least one 14 pounder in there.

Would that mean Lake Toho or one of the many lakes in the Kissimee area? I need to stay in between Lake okeechobee and Lake Toho it seems so I'll be fairly close to all the lakes that were listed.

Lake toho is connected all the way down to okeechobee.

You can catch a big one in a drainage ditch down here.

I have a local lake down here that hardly anyone fishes and when they do it is usually for snook or tilapia.

I have caught a 7, 8 and 10 there in the past year.

Not to mention all the 30" plus sized snook.

Fun fun fun.

Good luck on your trip.

If you have no luck on your goal I can bring you for one more try on your way back to the airport. :)

Lake Kissimmee.

campmack.com is a great place to stay.

If you want to stay in a more urban area you can stay in the city of Kissimmee, Haines City, or Lake Wales.
