dsidle61 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Ok guys im trying to help out a buddy of mine here. He has this little lure that he used to light up the bass and pickerel on up in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately last time I was up there visiting he had the lip of it break off compliments of a pickerel. Basically we couldn't find it anywhere, so im hoping that just maybe someone on here had one at some point and can remember the name. Here is what I know. It was made by Matzuo, its about 2" long, it once had a lip on it BUT everytime I watched him fish it he was basically pulling it topwater. So its a super shallow diver. Here are a few pics! Quote

Super User Jar11591 Posted February 12, 2014 Super User Posted February 12, 2014 Im pretty sure thats a Matzuo nano crank. I dont know if they make them with the fin anymore. I remember seeing a Matzuo jerkbait with the same fin but i cant find it stores now. Quote

Super User Fishes in trees Posted February 13, 2014 Super User Posted February 13, 2014 I've seen that bait at Walmart. Is it a good bait? I've always thought that MATZUO was marginal - quality wise. Their finishes chip really easily. If it works, then the finish wouldn't matter so much. Their finishes look a lot like the 2 to 5 year old Cabelas line of hard baits. They look good right out of the box but tend to chip and flake easily. Like I say, I swear I've seen that bait at Walmart - recently. Quote
TorqueConverter Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 It's an old Matzuo America bait. It appears to be a 2'' wakebait based on the bill size and the way your buddy was fishing it. If you lurk Ebay long enough I'm sure you'll find more. If you're looking for a replacement bait, take a look at the Bass Pro Shops 2'' 7/16 oz "The Egg" as well as the XPS Super Shallow Crank. Matzuo has put out a number of small wake baits over the years with the most recent being the Toryu Shad so look at those too if you trust the brand. Strike Pro has a wake bait called the Hunchback that is gaining popularity with striper guys and saltwater anglers. It's worth a look as well. Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Matzuo is South Bend now I think. I bought a Kinchou minnow to try. Kinda crappy and hooks are worst I have ever seen. Quote
