soopd Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I have a friend who wants me to set up his Humminbird units to share waypoint data. He has a 998 with an internal antenna at the console and a 598 unit at the trolling motor. Will the interlink system work between these two units? Also, will he need to purchase an additional external GPS antenna? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 11, 2014 Super User Posted February 11, 2014 No. the 598 is not linkable to share data with any connection. That is why it is a lower cost than the 798 The 998 does not have an internal GPS antenna--neither one of them, it is shipped with an external GPS antenna--AS GRP or AS GR-50.. The 598 has an internal GPS antenna.. Quote
soopd Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 Thanks. I misunderstood him. He has external with 998 and internal with 598. I was afraid it would not work. Quote
