Self employed. I own a Chinese resturant

Is the food cooked in house or is it the frozen/chain variety? Despite what others on here may tell you. I am quite the fan of Chinese food. Especially authentic non americanized Chinese food.

I started in the field as like a working super and then found myself in the office for more than half of my career, it took a good five years to make that transition. We have a totally different language out in the field where blunt and direct is needed to get the job done. No room to be politically correct, not with the project schedules that are put in front of us today. Darn near impossible! So I can see where she's coming from.

How are you making out with you transition slonnezp?

You haven't been to my civil dept. we hurt some feelings, sounds like you and slonez would fit in lol

We actually have a problem getting guys to work a full 8 hour day. It's getting ridiculous. They are too worried about getting on the road to avoid traffic so the day gets shorter and shorter. And forget about overtime, that doesn't exist anymore. If I wasn't salary, I'd be all over the overtime pay!

Rant over!

You ain't lying. The kids coming out of school are azz wipes. See jig while I started out as a rodman on a survey crew. Survey drafting and jumped at a chance to get on an engineering team. I learned storm water and grading, utility design from old school folks doing calcs by hand before all this BIM bs. I got no degree I quite school in the building boom when 60 hour weeks were norm. These apm's don't know dick squat and wanna suggest or tell clients how we design. OT hahaha they are all salaried and not working over their time bwahahaha. Man give me OT....I will have a stable of new quantums in a month a boat in a few lmao

Ok my rants over lol

Now that's uncalled for. It happened in one restaurant. I'm welcome in all the other ones in Birmingham.

Nope. In order to feel guilt I would have to feel bad about that incident. I in no way feel bad about it.

Family own and operated. My dad start the store in 2000. I took over the business 2010.

The food is prep and made fresh here everyday.

And I know there is a lot of ppl out these making jokes about Chinese resturants. They have no ideas how much hard work we have put in it.

Your business is a lot of hard work, no doubt. We are joking about another member being chased from a chinese restaurant by the owner swinging a ladle. No offense..

I'm a refrigeration mechanic by trade and have worked primarily in restaurants for the last 15 years. I know all too well about the difficulty's involved in the restaurant business. As others have said. the joke is geared towards Raider.

We have some family friends that own a local Chinese restaurant. Its a family business and the whole family works there. Even the children. They put a ton of hard work into it. Its one of the most popular ones in the area too. Everything is made fresh daily. They are in there prepping food before the sun comes up. I believe I will be having dinner there tonight, now that I think about it.

That's disappointing. Mastodon leather wallet maker would been helluva awesome!

Full time college student and intern at the SPCA. However, neither of those fund anything :(

If you're curious I don't work directly with the animals at the SPCA, I'm an intern with the office behind it all rasing funds, data warehousing, and event planning (to raise funds). However, one of the many perks is being able to go hang out with animals if you get too stressed out so I'm not complaining.

Fisheries Biologist by trade...hated that kind of work (more specifically the job I got from my degrees)  Now, I'm an Environmental Scientist for the State.  I inspect underground storage tanks.  I also remediate the sites when they leak/spill.
