slainempire Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 How is it? What things do you think i should add based on the style i fish according to what i already have? Last year was my first year really getting back into fishing after several years of only getting out a couple times a year. I have more stuff coming that my girlfriend is getting me for valentines day and i'll add that stuff to this thread when it gets here. I do a pretty even mix of boat fishing and shore fishing so i try to make it as organized as possible while still being able to take as much as i can. Quote
slainempire Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 a couple more things i couldnt upload in the first post Quote
Joe Schmuckatelli Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 it looks like you really like powerbait 2 Quote
slainempire Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 they havent let me down after all these years, plus there are many times when i find them on sale. sometimes i think people over think things and forget that something as simple as a curl tail texas rig plastic worm will do the job. Super User lmbfisherman Posted February 11, 2014 Super User Posted February 11, 2014 Looks like a great start to me. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted February 11, 2014 Super User Posted February 11, 2014 Nice setup. What color BPS Stick-o's are those? I can't quite tell, but one looks like Watermelon Magic? Am I right or wrong? I love that color, BTW. Quote

Super User Hi Salenity Posted February 11, 2014 Super User Posted February 11, 2014 I'd want more jerkbaits. But then I always want more Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted February 11, 2014 Super User Posted February 11, 2014 Looks like you've got a nice start there. You sure can tell it's winter in these recent gear posts, everything is so neat an organized. I get everything ready this way too and by the end of the year it looks like a tornado hit my storages lol. 1 Quote
slainempire Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Nice setup. What color BPS Stick-o's are those? I can't quite tell, but one looks like Watermelon Magic? Am I right or wrong? I love that color, BTW. they are green pumpkin, black/blue flake, and black/yellow swirl. i figured i would give the black/yellow swirl a try because it would be a could perch imitator. we dont have shad around here so much so perch, bluegill, craw, and frog type colors are the safest bet. slainempire Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 here are some recent additions, some from dicks sporting goods, some from my girlfriend for valentines day. got some bps flicker worms, dream shot, zoom ol monsters, o rings, spike it, havoc the deuce, vmc flippin hooks, spot remover shakey heads, and some jigs. between rods, reels, and various tackle upwards of $600 has been spent in the past 2 weeks. i guess this bait monkey thing is for real huh? lol. jhoffman Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 It looks to me like you rely heavily on the jig and or soft plastics bite. I dont see any 20ft crankbaits. Zero swimbaits, no spoons. Hey what do I know, fish what you like? Looks like you are a strait up power fisherman. I see the stuff to drop shot but not the smaller baits. Quote
slainempire Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 id say 80% of my fishing is soft plastics and jigs, its definitely my comfort zone. the rest is mostly split between shallow cranks, squarebills, and spinnerbaits. there arent too many bodies of water that i fish were deep cranking would apply but i have a few as well as some spoons but the stay in my overflow tackle box. ive only used swimbaits a little bit and only this past season with very little success. i'll probably get some bluegill swimbaits and see how they will work for me at some point this season. jhoffman Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I see youre in PA. Do you have a boat? Quote
slainempire Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 i dont have a boat personally but i get out on one quite often Quote
bartdude186 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 gonna need atleast 150 more bags of flukes hahaha. On a serious note, looks good. i see alot of the same things i have in my bag. Quote
slainempire Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 i have never actually fished a fluke amazingly. i have 1 bag of super fluke jrs that im gonna try drop shotting when i get the chance. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted February 21, 2014 Super User Posted February 21, 2014 Need some: More Jerkbaits, better assortment of hooks, cranks that go deeper than 5' Quote
dam0007 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 they havent let me down after all these years, plus there are many times when i find them on sale. sometimes i think people over think things and forget that something as simple as a curl tail texas rig plastic worm will do the job. 7" curly tail worm in green pumpkin or black is still a go to confidence bait for me Quote
slainempire Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 same with me, damn0007. heck i still use tru-turn hooks with them. why fix something if it isnt broken? Quote
