from peepers website:

Dense, hand picked balsa is cut, drilled, multi-coat sealed, multi-coat primed, then painted.

Rear hook hanger is screwed into a hardwood dowel which has been inserted in the tail.

Belly weight/ hook hanger and Lexan bill are glued in with an incredibly strong glue. We pulled large chunks of balsa out while trying to pull the bill out of a bait. Just to see if we could.

Pull point is drilled and inserted through the bill. They are all in the same position and they will not move unless you move them.

Stainless hardware will not rust or corrode.

All baits are finished with an epoxy gel coat, not a thin lacquer or acrylic. All WEC baits stocked currently are hand-initialed on the bill by Mr. Ed Chambers himself. Can you say "collector's items"?

You can find them for cheaper than that. Have you fished them?

I have not...if I could get them a little cheaper I would try one.

Quit sittin' on that fat wallet and try one. ;D  You'll get most of your money back out of it if you dont like it.

Simmons Sporting Goods. My favorite is the Z Flat. They did have some Wobblers on there recently, they're pretty popular as well.

The reason I asked if you have used them is because they do work.

It's similar to Lucky Craft. They run true out of the box and are built well, so that's why they are expensive.

I know you can get them for $18 from some places, but I forget where.

I'm curious as to what's the difference between those and some of our tackle crankbait makers here. Big M makes almost the exact looking bait.

Supply and Demand: big demand and a small supply :D

I agree 100% and if they were easy to find around were I live I would have a couple. If your not willing to pay the $22 the guy your fishing against probley will. They are a proven bait. Let us know how you like them. It sounds like you have already made up your mind you going to get a couple.

I have some Zoom WEC cranks that you would have to pull from my cold, dead hands to get.

I don't mind the price......I would rather have a small handful of cranks that kick a** than a tacklebox full of baits that don't.

As far as the BigM reference - - they both make great cranks, and different models. I have both, and fish both depending on what the conditions dictate.

FWIW, I prefer the BigM "Marty's Charlie" over the Zoom Wobbler - - both of which are based off of the original "Charlie-O"

I took the plunge and ordered some Wec cranks last year. I must have got a bad batch. The gel coat did not hold up well and the baits were showing signs of wear after the first fish or 2. I wrote a note to Zoom about my disappointment. They called me a few days later and gladly exchanged the baits. The new ones are much better.

Does anyone have contact info for Big M?

I have some and have used them very little. I just cant handle loosing them! I still get them wet once in a while but not as often as I should. I thought about getting more but right now finances just dont allow it.

I just got a couple of the Wec E1 cranks. You guys think I should replace the trebles? If so what size triple grip?

it is not necessary to change the hooks on these cranks. you will love that crankbait
