If you're going to buy a boat, a trailer, a truck, gas, rods, reels, line, and a tackle box stocked better than your refrigerator...
YOU MIGHT AS WELL FISH.

Don't let a little rain keep you away!

I absolutely love fishing in the rain. Don't know what it is about it, the wetter the better as far as I'm concerned. We have been out in some surface frothing downpoors and just slayin em.

I have had some of my best fishing trip while it was raining. As long as I have rain gear on it doesn't bother me.

This year the rain will not stop me. The cold and rain together however thats going to stop me. :bath:

My thoughts exactly. Rain or cold seperately I can deal with, especially if I'm catching fish. But combining the two makes my patience run VERY thin.

Why can't I see the videos? I see the opening picture and when I click on the play button, it takes me instantly to the end of the video. Anyone know what's up with this?

I never thought there was much difference in rain-wear until I bought Gore-tex.

Let a little rain stop me? Hell no! I got lips to pierce!

I caught my biggest fish in the rain! I keep my rain gear on my boat. I've read tons of articles about how the rain improves fishing because the fish let their guard down when it rains. They cant see or hear you as easily and they're more likely to go after your lure since they can't see it as well either. Either way the only thing that scares me off the water is lighting.

I love fishing in the rain, and I love that most other guys won't fish in the rain  :eyebrows:

Cold rain kills me but for any of you that never have never used gortex before its awesome stuff. I learned all about this in the military :P

Gortex is used in spacesuits too.

One of my very best outings was in a torrential downpour.  Offshore about 2 miles a squall comes up, winds pick up to about 40 mph, waves get very high and the rain was coming at us sideways, we couldn't come in.  That's when the bite turned on, for maybe an hour or so, at all times we had sailfish and kingfish on.  Squall blew over and the bite ended that fast.

I love fishing in the rain. I think it is a great time to catch big bass. All the power boaters and jet skiers are staying dry. Not as many guys are out fishing. the fishing is just better in my opinion. Usually up here in New England rain usually coincides with front passing through. Always a great time to fish.

I like the rain, it chase most everyone else off the water.

This is very true.

I love fishing in the rain. Especially during a hot day then it starts raining. I have heard good stuff about Goretex. I am currently prostaff with Gill. Amazing stuff. Not saying bad things about Goretex. Good material to.

Growing up, my grandfather always told me there were only two good times to fish.  When it's raining and when it's not.

I like the rainy days, for many of the reasons already stated.  Fewer joyriders, jet skis, and yes, even fishermen.  I think the rain makes such a commotion, beating on the surface of the water that it muffles all other sounds that might startle or disturb fish, making them wary, or send them scooting away.
