Fishin24/7 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I picked up a couple Bagley balsa b's from a yard sell and was wondering if y'all could tell me a little about them like what year range they were from. Thanks Quote
TrapperJ Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I hear the old ones are killer! Sorry that's all I know. I grabbed some of the news on try. But I hear there not as good as the old school. Something about those balsa cranks Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 9, 2014 Super User Posted February 9, 2014 I would like to see the back of the package! But I'd say early 80s Quote
Fishin24/7 Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 The bottom of the back. It wouldn't let me upload it as one pic because the file was too large. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 That model is from the late 90s/early 00s. Made in the Dominican. I bought every one of them I could find, I think they are great baits. 1 Quote
Fishin24/7 Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 I have a source for those baits still Really? Would you be kind enough to share your source with me? Even though this isn't an original Bagley it's still a cool bait and only cost me $3. Wish the guy had some more of them. 1 Quote
jhoffman Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 The shop hasnt been open since fall. When I see its open again Ill stop in and shoot the bull with him and make sure he still has some. Last time I was in he did. Quote
jhoffman Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 If youre really interested, drop me a quick pm in march, I suspect he will be open back up by then. Quote
RandySBreth Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 The old "Honey B's" are one of my favorite "finesse" cranks. Quote
Super User WRB Posted February 9, 2014 Super User Posted February 9, 2014 Bagley's burned down in the late 70's and restarted production agian in the early 80's. The Balsa B was one of the first square bills that would "hunt" swim in a zig zag pattern on it's own. If you have a B that hunts it's worth some money, if it doesn't they get resold. The originals B's are single line tie square bills. Tom Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 9, 2014 Super User Posted February 9, 2014 Those are the least desirable if all Balsa B's! Go to tackle under ground web site Quote
Fishin24/7 Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 So are these any good? They only cost $3 so I'm not to worried if they don't work but should I even fish them? Also are they at least better than the brand new ones? Quote

Also are they at least better than the brand new ones? The brand new ones have gotten bad reviews - quality issues. I have seen multiple reports of the baits splitting/cracking... I bought some, but haven't gotten to try them out yet... As for the ones you got, they are very good baits. Are they the quality of 70s Bagleys? No, nothing is.... But they are at least $30 cheaper and fun as heck to fish. Quote
