So I finally was able to pick some of these up. Sadly they only had 1 size of each kind but I'll have to make due. Grabbed some 3.8 fat and 4" regular in bluegill flash. How do you prefer to fish them... Weightless T rig or weighted swimbait hook? What weight do you prefer and I'm guessing a 3/0 or 4/0 hook.

There's a good YouTube video and this recommended using swim bait hook especially the eagle claw hook since it has a huge gap 60 degree. His video sold me on the idea so that's my plan.

He said his words he thought they looked better in the water on the swimbait hook vs the jig head he acted like the jig head didn't give as good of movement as the swimbait hook.

Also I hear invest in some mendit. I got some 3.8 to throw on my umbrella rig. And plan to fish the 4.8 as solo swimbaits.

My favorite way to fish them is on a jig head.  I feel I get the best action out of them that way.

Yeah I really wanted the 4.8 size but they only had mass amounts of the 3.8. I grabbed bluegill flash to try out. I'll have to get some mend it.

I'm such a sucker for Japanese baits anymore I feel well maybe they haven't seen these as much. I snagged some of Keitechs solid tubes to try when I was researching the fat ika.

The 3.8 inch fat swing impact is one of my favorite swimjig trailers for the California style of jig. By this I mean the Northstar flip and swim, Siebert elite series, or the Dirty jigs swim jigs. The smaller and more slender swing impact is great as a trailer on the northern style finesse swim jigs.

Outside of a trailer option or as A-rig attachments I would swim them on the keel weighted swimbait hook nice and slow when it is cold and more drop and lift when it is warmer. Weight would be dependent on depth and to an extent how patient you are. Also consider fall rate and action as it relates to overall weight. Typically I like 3/16 for most of my scenarios and I may adjust a bit either way as needed. The squid scent, action, and color options make these some of the best baits I have fished.

Their product line as a whole is very good and has caught me alot of fish. A go to lure company for me especially when I am on a tough bite. I think you really like em.

Yeah I've heard nothing but good things about them that's why I was excited to stumble across them tonight. Just sucks there were no 4.8's. My main plan was fishing them over grass. I think the 3.8's will still do the trick though. If not then they'll become trailers but hopefully that's not the case.

I have nothing close by me at all. I went with a friend tonight an hour away to pick up something he ordered. I figured why not stop at DSG and grab some havoc subwoofers for swim jig trailers. They had every havoc bait but the subwoofers. To my surprise I found Keitechs,D bombs, and some certain rage tail stuff on clearance. 10 minutes later I checked out $90 worth of stuff. Oh well it's all stuff I wanted to try out anyways.

IMO, there's more cost effective options that work well for just ticking over grass. For me the Swing Impacts really stand above the rest on a 1/4oz darter head just cast and retrieved slowly back in or stroked along the bottom.

I like that jighead as well.

I use VMC Half-Moon jig heads when I can fish an exposed hook with little issues.  I have also used them on a mojo rig with some success through the grass.

In southern La, my paddle tail fishing is usually around heavy timber and thick grass. Weedless is a must.

I personally like the Owner keel weighted swimbait hook, 3/0, 1/16 oz weight for shallow applications. This applies to the 3.8 impact fat shad, as this is the only size I have tried.

Don't tell anyone, but they are my go to baits for skipping under docks, tree limbs, and through cypress stump fields too thick to risk expensive cranks and spinnerbaits. Excellent in that application!

I saw today that BPS has a 3.8 and 4.8 version that look the same. Even have the same name for colors. Same price though. I also grabbed some swimbait heads in 1/8-1/4-3/8 that have a 5/0 hook and kinda look like the J will. Price was just a lot better.

I'm not sure if the action will be the same but for those who can't find them but have a bps nearby this might be a good substitute. For me bps or cabelas is 2hrs away. Gander mtn and dicks are 1hr. Small town living at it's best haha

Football head with a 4/0 hook. Is the only way I run the fat ones. It creates a wide wobble ecspecially if you drag them super slow over rocks. As for the smaller ones I T rig with a bullet weight held down with a bobber stop.

Used the regular swing impacts on both an A-Rig as well as drop shot.  The dropshot will work great on the regular swing impact with a #1 dropshot hook.  Think if I had the Fat's I'd use them as the center bait on the A-Rig or T-rig them with a 1/8 to 3/16 tungsten weight and slow swim them, or use them as a swimjig trailer.
