Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 8, 2014 Global Moderator Posted February 8, 2014 I believe bluebasser named his little boy "lake" My wifes cousin is an avid angler and his little boys name is Fisher Sure did! My wife wasn't real big on the name Lake at first but it's really grown on her, probably because of how many people hear it and say they really like the name I liked it because I obviously like fishing and being on the water, and my wife and I love camping and being on the water so why not name our son after something that we already loved? Plus, how do you say no to that face? It could have been a lot worse for him for sure. My wife's boy name was "Aspen" Something tells me "Boy Named Sue" would have been one of his favorite songs if he'd got stuck with that name 2 Quote

Super User Sam Posted February 8, 2014 Super User Posted February 8, 2014 My grandson - Fisher after Fisher Price the toy company. My granddaughter - Marlee after the singer. You have enough names to select among so have some fun. I like Lake. Cool name. I told my daughter-in-law that she should have named the little girl Hunter and the next one Trapper. She did not see the humor with my suggestion. Quote

Tyfisher Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Have a puppy named Fluke. Looking forward to bringing him fishing once all this snow is done. Quote
Basswhippa Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I would never name a kid that wasn't some sort of family name, but if you are going to just make up a fish name how about Anglin, Mariner, Fisher, Fish, Shakespeare (Shakin or Shake for short), Flipper, Ranger, Skeeter, Catfish, Okee, Toled0, Sam Rayburn, Tennessee, Tex (Short for a great bass fishing state), Roland, Dance, Houston. I have known or heard of people named after most of these. Heck of it is, your son will probably hate fishing if you name something for it. Known many a "Hunter" that was more of a city slicker who never spent a day in the woods. Your boy will probably want to be at his band meet on Saturdays, and you will be there too. Quote
Fabricator Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 My grandson - Fisher after Fisher Price the toy company. My granddaughter - Marlee after the singer. She did not see the humor with my suggestion. My daughter got her name after Bob Marley, Well we've settle on names (for now) Girl, Paisley Brooke and a boy Mason Eli. At least I won in the girls name. My wife decided to name the boy Mason after partly my dad's occupation and my affiliation . Thanks guys, for all the congrats. Quote
