DILLY07 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I do. It's because its the adrenaline rush going through my body and also because I get excited. I yell things like 'BOOM'. I'm talking about Michael Iaconelli and other Elites on Bassmasters or like Brent Ehler from FLW. Just curious if other anglers do such thing? Quote
ColdSVT Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Umm no...especially no when im tournament fishing 4 Quote
jhoffman Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Im in the big ones over here, come get em boys! You never lifted a big one over the side and had some slimeball slide in and get in front of the bank you were working or start fishing the same point? It happens so often here I expect it. Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 6, 2014 Super User Posted February 6, 2014 I have on a few occasions, but generally no. Quote
boostr Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Yes, I berate that big mouthed bastige, And then I bodyslam him back in the water. 2 Quote
Smallmouth Hunter Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Yeah I usually yell down his mouth as loud as I can, then slam him in the livewell, and cuss out a dog. 2 Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 6, 2014 Super User Posted February 6, 2014 No, I act like I have caught a fish before. It's no big deal. 2 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted February 6, 2014 Super User Posted February 6, 2014 Only when I end up with one of the trebles in my finger while the other two are in them... 4 Quote
Smallmouth Hunter Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Yeah I usually yell down his mouth as loud as I can, then slam him in the livewell, and cuss out a dog. I hope you all know that I was completely joking ^^^ Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted February 6, 2014 Super User Posted February 6, 2014 At this point during the bitter cold and probably 2 more months left....id yell if i snagged a minnow at this point. 5 Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted February 6, 2014 Super User Posted February 6, 2014 It's more of a sigh of relief that I got her in and the line didn't snap or she didn't shake the hook! 1 Quote
jignfule Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 No. I'm always excited, but I keep my mouth shut Quote
DILLY07 Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 I dont like actually yell out loud. Just talk to myself, like the bass tries to jump out and shake the lure out, Ill say no no no dont you dare just in talking way. Once I land the bass in, I usually say Bam not very loud like Ike does. Quote
RF813 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I don't think I could see myself doing that. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted February 7, 2014 Super User Posted February 7, 2014 I have a couple times, but more out of sheer relief I got the bass in. Normally when I have done that only a kayak fishing buddy is near me, I don't do it when others are nearby. Quote
Missourifishin Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I'm usually pretty silent as I'm concentrating on getting the fish reeled in. Quote
5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I usually imitate a good ole Bill Dance comment like "that's a mule my boy" 1 Quote
boostr Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Only when I end up with one of the trebles in my finger while the other two are in them... I yelled when I saw this, thats some nasty chit. I feel the pain just looking at it... oddly I can't look away. Quote
SENKOSAM Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 No! Anytime I catch a fish, large or small, it's a reverent moment of relief and the answer to the question during the fight of - how big?!! I've always seen catching a large bass as pure luck on my or anyone else's part and therefore nothing to shout about regardless of how experienced. I'm more into the immediate question of why here and why this bait? Most of the time the answers are illusive but nonetheless a mystery - as mysterious and awesome as me or my partner being in the right place and time. I leave the acting like a maniac to Ike and others. I see it as a Richard Sherman act of disrespect to the fish which I have the greatest respect for, adrenaline rush or not. 1 Quote
lmoore Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Occasionally, but very rarely. I'm more likely to let out a shout when I lose one. You'd be surprised how many guys still try to come fish nearby just because they hear you make some noise. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 7, 2014 Super User Posted February 7, 2014 No But, I do yell if I end up with a hook in my hand. A-Jay 1 Quote

Just curious if other anglers do such thing? Those guys are playing it up for the cameras. Plus, when you are playing for big money, there is a lot of emotion involved. Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted February 7, 2014 Super User Posted February 7, 2014 I do sometimes but not loud....except the time this group of three raced in front of my dad and I to get to a sweet spot before us...they caught nothing and moved and we came in behind them and I caught a small one on the first cast. I hooped just to let em know. 1 Quote
